Great job man! You will always be my "reel" guy! Hehe! I didn't even research on the last ones I got because I know you got the answer's. I don't think i'd ever try a bait caster style as im inlove with the open reels. I'll still watch! Nice job on getting the reel!

Thanks cody! This BFS style bait caster might be better for your tight quarter trout creek fishing. This reel can cast small lures like spinners and nymph jigs easily.

I am looking for a BFS system (R & R) that is "Light" but not UL which I already have. Maybe use 8# line on it. I have 4# line on my Kestrel Zephr. I need a good braking system, because I am still new to bait casting. Do you think this the Kestrel BFS reel would be a good choice for a beginner? What rod would you recommend for the Kestrel BFS reel with 6 or 8 lb test braid?

I've been casting really light lures with the kestrel bfs and it does the job but I couldn't get any good distance. And I was using 6lb braid. This is a good reel for bfs beginner as the brake is pretty easy to setup. I would say casting 1/4oz lure up would be easy but lure under 1/8g can be a little tricky. I'm not a BFS expert by any means as this is my first BFS designated bait caster. I would say this reel is a Light according to you not UL just from watching BFS videos there's tons of options from China that can cast lighter lures better. The rod I pair up with is the Purelure Cedan L from Aliexpress, I left a link in the video description. I would recommend using 6lb or even thinner braid for it. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks buddy! I can do that on the testing video. Compare small bait casting performance with the salamandura sv 70. Just from what I know, the Kestrel BFS is gonna win

Haha nope it came in a cardboard box with nice packaging. Yea I'd be pissed too but that's not how it was delivered. Please don't believe things you see on KZbin lol
