Have two of this.. Elite & one non-magnesium body kestrel.(asian version) & about a third cheaper. , both functions the same and it about the identical weight.I have 0.2PE braid on main & 1.0 Lead. Going after fiesty two kilo peacock bass on my favourite Kuying 510s is mind blowing..

I'm gonna play devil's advocate a bit and say that I could cast those 4grams on my 20 Metanium (non-Shallow edition spool) which someone could get for 40$ more than the current asking price for the Kestrel of 220$ 😄 However, I am interested to see you test it for a trout fishing session with realistic trout lures (not 1g trout magnets). I once said that I would pay 100$ for a DWU if they made a thumb bar that doesn't wobble so hard. Your previous review of the Kestrel demonstrated some decent tolerances so it's tempting to get it on sale (maybe ~120$).

Andrew bfs is the worst technique for catching pike. You can easily break your line and leaving the lure in the fish's mouth or tire it to avoid that but, in both cases, it will end up in premature death. Pike are not trout...leave the bfs for trout and fish with heavier tackle! Channel subscribers will thank you and pikes too! 🎣
