I can imagine Kasumi’s tone towards Akechi would turn from being frightened to genuinely angry that this is the guy that tried to assassinate her senpai that she admires so much a few months prior the third semester arc when she joins the party earlier in Shido’s palace after learning Akechi’s true nature. Sumi would be like “Senpai, I’m willing to trust your judgment, but why team up with *HIM* of all people?” Sumi would be genuinely pissed that Akechi has the *GAUL* to show up again and honestly would be very protective of Joker whenever Akechi is near Joker’s vicinity, much to Akechi’s annoyance.

So this is Kasumi's first time meeting Futaba. Kasumi is really unfailingly polite to everyone, even in English and when others tell her not to be so formal. Even Futaba was shocked by how elegant she is. She does end all her sentences with "desu" in Japanese or a variant of some sort. I'm surprised by how the name Kasumi is pronounced in English. Then again, I do know how it's pronounced in Japanese.

A.J Thomas I’m sorry but I Will have to disagree. Kasumi’s persona is actually really strong in fact it’s probably stronger than all the other phantom thieves besides GORO and joker. I mean she naturally gets the ability to cut her enemies accuracy and in half and she’s a critical rate master not to mention that her persona when it went berserk was it overwhelming akechi (though this could’ve been a fake) and joker and if your remember akechi was as strong as all the phantom thieves combined. And they only won when the others arrived . So even if you want to cut the power level in half kasumi it’s still way above the average phantom thieves . And guess what that was just level one she levels up three times in the 3 semester. So I would disagree because according to the story kasumi along with Goro and ren is one of the most powerful persona users in the world.

Probably didn't want to rebalance the whole Palace? Having new party member means more tactical options, more total SP reserve, etc. I'm more interested waht did Kasumi do during Yaldabaoth sequence. Being a Persona User she should have noticed something was wrong, but either she didn't try to contact the party nor didn't she asked about it later. I mean, a simple phrase like " OMG I was so scared I couldn't even move" would be sufficient.

Quite Hefty even if you want to see her percent of going berserk is a two times boost then you’re still looking at her being stronger than all of the Phantom . And kasumi didn’t change from then to then She wasn’t even in The meta-verse or trained at all during that time so her power level is same. And again this before her reawakening and her persona evolving twice. Also the fight with Goro is scripted too but it’s confirmed that Akechi is as strong as all of The phantom thieves combined with joker. So just by regular power scaling she is the strongest and by gameplay she is the strongest .

While in most adaptations of Persona, the protagonist is usually given a sort of default personality, in-game, however, you choose as to what kind of person he will become. Wildcards go through a journey hence why they are represented by the Fool arcana. During that journey, the protagonist will begin to develop a personality based on the choices that you chose throughout the game.

@Kira Kurusu Well, this is Yoshizawa's only debut as a character in Persona 5 apart from crossovers unless they add her into PQ3, there won't be any other way to interact with her. This is after all a "soft remake" of the game with new additions to the cast, mechanics, locations, etc. The reason why it feels like the focus is on Yoshizawa is because she's completely new and integral to the plot of Royal. You've already gotten a taste of the original Persona 5 confidants, why not try these people out and see what you think of them. If *YOU* don't like them, tough luck, *JOKER* likes them. Joker can have whatever personality you want him to have (although that's a bit of stretch, there are only a few options available due to limited dialogue choices and most of the time, it's to fit his alter-egos as Akira/Ren and Joker. He can be cool, mysterious, calm, cocky, snarky, bold, shy or soft-spoken as some of these would have to fit his aesthetic as the Trickster) but at his core, Joker is a decent guy, he wouldn't have became a Phantom Thief if he wasn't, he wouldn't have helped the lady that was getting harrassed by Shido if he wasn't. He is supposed to look past the individual, find out why they are what they are, *(SPOILER ALERT)* what compelled Sumire to take on the identity of her dead twin? That's for *Joker/You* to find out. I may have to clarify what I meant in my previous comment since it can get confusing, Joker may not be *YOU* in the sense that you can self-insert whatever personality you have in real-life onto him *BUT* as a way to get you into the world, to get you invested in it, to help interact with the characters through a vessel and that is Joker. He is not some blank, gray, customizable character for you to change up, he is more akin to a colored puppet following a script and *YOU* are the hand controlling his decisions, movements and interactions, to get him to follow whatever script is meant to be played. If the script says "Do this." then you do it or if it says "Say these words" then you speak out. It is your opinion if you don't like Kasumi/Sumire, but you cannot change the protagonist's views unless it says you can because he is not *YOU*

Although I understand story wise why Sumi wasn’t playable in Shido’s Palace in the main game, MAN I WISHED she was allowed to join in at this point of the story so badly! Not only would Sumi fill in the bless user when we just lost Akechi due to his backstabbing, but she could’ve seriously been a literal blessing due to her being a critical making machine in battles! Plus it would’ve been a great opportunity to extend her bonds to the other members of the Phantom Thieves and not just Joker and Morgana, and have her truly become part of the team and not leave that for the second half of Maruki’s palace near the end of the game. Plus in the game files it shows Sumi DID have a mouse form like everyone else which is exclusive to Futaba’s AND SHIDO’S PALACES, so it’s a perfect chance to use her mouse form in Shido’s Palace officially! For everything Persona 5 Royal did amazingly, there are some aspects that Atlus seriously dropped the ball on. Sumi’s inclusion in the party is one of them.

Kasumi's so, so much more than just a party member. Being playable is really minor in the overall scheme of things. Heck, look at Haru, or Yusuke...they're playable, but basically non-entities once their respective Palaces end, as far as the story is concerned. Kasumi could have never been a party member at all, and still would've been great, just for being such a well-written character, and such an important part of Joker's own character arc.

*SPOILER ALERT* Persona 5 Royal did a lot of things right, but also did quite a few things wrong... While I did enjoy Sumire's (Kasumi) character arc, I feel as though we should have had her as teammate for Shido's palace, even if Shido at the time was their most dangerous enemy. That would make the shocking discoveries about her past a little more impact in my opinion as you fight alongside someone that you think you "know". And don't get me wrong, I love to replay the game time and time again but we all know how long it takes to unlock a teamplayer and with Sumire and Akechi unlocked at the very end of the game, NG+ should have allowed an option in which you can play with all teammates throughout the palace without them actually affecting the story line. I'm not quite sure as to how that would work, probably a "cognition" of Joker as he faintly remembers going through the events? Either way I wanna play all the Palaces with my boi pancakes and best girl Sumire.

There wouldn’t even need to be justification for why you’d have everyone in ng+. It’s ng+, it’s not canon. Strikers had everyone from the start in ng+ without needing to justify anything, because there’s no need to.

I'm still more partial to Futaba, since we share hobbies, so that means it will be more enjoyable that we can geek out together, when we're together. and even if the relationship didn't go anywhere, I would still have gained a friend to geek out with. so for me, Futaba is still a better girl than Kasumi... though Kasumi is a close second, I'm partial to redheads.

In all honesty she was constantly worried off him as a person. Even since she thanked him, apologized for even thinking in believing the rumors and the badmouthing from Kamoshida, how she g reeted him at hawaii....and even apologizing to him for having a different opion about him being a phantom thief even tough he held no ill will or anything. If anything she cared a lot for Ren....not the charming phantom thief but as th second year student who had been more than just a help in the training.
