This is the first palette like this that I've REALLY wanted! Never would have thought about using the darker shades for eye shadow, but that's a good idea and makes me want it even more! I keep my smashbox contour kit with me in my make up bag all the time. it's small and compact and very carry around friendly :) It's not so much that I feel the need to touch up throughout the day but rather that if something random comes up (I sleep over, need to travel for work, etc) I always know I have it with me :)

It's kind of annoying lol. Not every palette or kit is made or meant to be compact so you can take it with you everywhere. More product obviously means more packaging, I'd rather get more product in the end. Contour palettes I personally keep at home because I don't keep contouring throughout the day.

I love Kat Von D makeup. Her tattoo liner is my holy grail eyeliner and I had gotten her Monarch palette a little while ago and love the (tiny) death out of that thing! Thank you for reviewing this palette because I was on the fence about it, but now it's on my wishlist. :) I just have to say, Tati, I watch alot of the gurus here on youtube and I find it hard to keep watching the same ones all the time because (like, religiously watching their newest video as soon as it comes out) I feel like after a while I'm not really learning anything new. Not to say that they are boring or anything negative like that, but I consider myself to still be a noob at makeup. I can honestly say that whenever my phone tells me that you've put out a new video it doesn't matter where I am, I'm watching it! You always have something new and interesting to talk about. I'm in love with this palette and brush! I actually have another brush on the way for my kit-I love it that much! I have a tiny face-so the contour side is perfect for me-and the highlight side distributes powder SO well-not cakey or weird like a few other brushes I have.

I'm totally loving Kat Von D right now! I just posted a pic to instagram of my most recently purchased items and realized that I got 4 lippies, foundation, and 2 eyeliners from her recently! And I love them all! I currently use the it cosmetics sculpting kit and have for a few years now and it serves its purpose so I won't be getting this one, but that brush is interesting, I wish it was two separate brushes though. I HATE cleaning double ended brushes!

I have a hard time getting passed the idea that I won't use most of the shades for their intended purpose... I know I can use them as shadows, but for the price, I already have shadows similar! Am I crazy or alone in this feeling? I just can't justify it! I rather use Barcelona Beach from makeup geek or sculpt from Mac, or Taupe blush from NYX or the Morphe Kit bc it's only around $15.... Just me?

Good for you for being frugal! But keep in mind, you get a lot more product with this palette, and the quality is amazing as well as the shades being made to be the perfect shade for creating a natural shadow. It's definitely worth the money if it's something you're passionate about! This isn't just casual contouring we're talking about. Lol

I couldn't stop staring at your skin, it's so glowy and I'm jealous! However, I personally wasn't a fan of this palette and exchanged it for the new Marc Jacobs duo (which is almost the same colors as the middle shades) and love it. I think his powders are silkier, you get tons more product in your actual shade, and the compact is gorgeous and sleek.

This is a great review. I have this palette and have been really happy with it. Fair price, good product. It's a winner. I don't have the brush that goes with the palette. I just use a Elf $3 blush brush b/c it's the perfect size and cheap.
