Katahdin - Day 1 Appalachian Trail SOBO Thru Hike

Day 1 of our Appalachian Trail through hike. On the trail we go by the trail names Owl and Togo.

It was so beautiful up on top. It was totally obscured when we first got up and then the clouds parted for just a few minutes!

It took us from 7:30a to 12n to get up we stayed up about 30min and went down Abol. Got to Abol at around 4p and got a ride back to Katahdin Stream Campground

@@Running_To_Something Thanks for the quick reply. Another question, if you don't mind. Can you share your lodging plan? We're planning a late summer summit followed by 10 days in the 100 Mile Wilderness. Trying to figure out the best place to stay pre and post summit.

@@CKDaley we stayed at Appalachian Trail Hostel in Millenocket. They will take you to Baxter. Then you’ll summit, and start on the AT till you reach Monson. Stay at Shaw’s Hostel and they can support your way back.
