I climbed Katahdin when I was 13 or 14 with my scout troop, I saw the thru-hikers finishing and swore I will hike that trail. It’s been 40 years now and I am hoping for an attempt in 2026. I have been quietly watching you from the beginning. Your smile, your kind demeanor, your soft-spoken voice, you were the quiet underdog to me. I didn’t think you had the tenacity to finish this. You proved me wrong. Keep proving people wrong, you’re now a force to be reckoned with. This is something to put on a resume. It proves tenacity, resilience, adaptability, character, and above all, the will of the human spirit. I am crying as I write this, congratulations. Someday, it will be my turn.

Sitting here crying like a baby after watching this video. My wife and I have followed you the whole way. We actually did the approach trail back in late April and it just whetted our appetite to do more. But I cannot imagine the range of emotions - bittersweet for sure - that you experience at the end of such a journey. I’d think it might be hard to acclimate back into a normal daily routine. Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I've run Boston Marathon 3x, and my husband compared my crossing the finish line at Boston to you finishing the AT. I told him there was no comparison. What you did is epic and took almost 6 months to complete! A marathon can be completed in just a few hours. My brother hiked the AT years ago and didn't feel comfortable sleeping inside for about a week and slept in his tent in the backyard. I hope you are fairing better. That hiker let down is very real. A great video! You are a good videographer, and I like the way you did a summary of the hike by replaying the mileage waypoints all the way to Katahdin while you were climbing the mountain. My wife and I have really enjoyed these videos. You've shown us some beautiful views along the way, but it seems to me that these videos toward the end in Maine have had some of the most beautiful scenery. I wish we had started watching the videos from the beginning instead of bringing up the rear like this, but better late than never. An enjoyable part of the videos has been glimpsing your relationships with your fellow hikers. With my sense of humor, I wonder if I had been there if I would have hit it off with Ziggy and Bebo.
