The Cracker fight for me is a situation when fans' simplistic expectations of power tiering clashes with storytelling (and a good DF). It also ignores that Doflamingo also required G4 (and Cracker still can just take a single punch). What I remember more is that Katakuri's punches were still _much_ harder than Luffy's Snakeman punches, be it due to his DF, Haki or strength. This effectively means that Luffy in Wano for a long time either was still weaker than Katakuri - buffed with a new technique that's common sense to samurai there - or that he achieved just a similar level after training in prison. (He probably gets a "quiet upgrade" after most arcs by default, so after Wano at least he no doubt was finally stronger in G4, not counting Ryu or CoC.)

I did bc I thought what Luffy said to Rayleigh about knowing his opponents character to help him beat someone using future sight would come into play but it never does. I also wanted luffy to take a fuckin L like he deserved too so ehh I could go either way with it. Even with him stabbing himself he still coulda won imo. ODA made luffy climb in power to fast and made kat stagnant so they could lie and say they’re equals. I could go on all day. But it was a dope moment first time around.
