Very nice work! I think you are the best working outside Japan. You should host classes where students could learn enough to forge they're own tanto or wakazashi. I think it could be very popular.

If anyone wants it, they can write to me. I am willing to work with people, but only individually. And I do, sometimes. Working with a group will not allow you to convey information well.

@@katanamaking2606 yes understand about big groups and not being able to spend enough time with each person. But maybe 3 students? Don't know if it would be beneficial financially for you to do.

How about showing the whole finished product in the end?

Some videos have a finished sword at the end. However, finishing, polishing and koshirae, takes at least 6 months, normally 1 year. It depends on the order between jobs. Sometimes there will be a video with completed swords.

Question, what is the purpose of quenching before shaping sonobe?
@katanamaking2606
@katanamaking2606 2 жыл бұрын
This is not hardening. It's just cooling the rod end. The temperature is not very high. About 200°C. I cool it down so I can hold it in my hand and continue working. No thing more. No secret technique. :-)
