It's amazing. This novel really inspired me to turn my life around. Lilly's route in particular made me realise my love for the neat, proper and orderly, and gave me motivation to begin improving myself. When I played through KS for the first time around two weeks ago, my room was a mess - cups of mold, dirty plates, heaps of clothes and bugs in the carpet - and mentally I can't say I was much better. 'Resigned' might be the word for it. I feel like a weeb saying "mu waifu changed ma lyfe..." - but since I finished Lilly's route, almost everything's changed. All of the dishes are down in the kitchen, I've cleaned my desk, the inch-thick layer of clothes on my floor has been sorted out, and I've hoovered everywhere but the underside of my bed. On top of that, I changed the layout of my room for the first time in three-four years; it's so much more open, lets more light in, and I... really just feel more at home here, now. On a personal level, it feels like a weight's been lifted off me. I'm starting to see the beauty in the smaller things again, and I've started warming up to people again. It still feels like there's a barrier between me and my peers, but I feel my interactions with them have been a lot more positive - though I'm no less awkward. It seems I'm coming out of my depression. While I had an upswing in my mental health before playing KS, I don't think I'd be where I am now without it. It feels odd, somehow, to have been so moved by a VN, but here we are. Oh, and I've also started reading _And Then There Were None_, as well as drinking more tea than water. -We out here Lillymaxxing.- I just wanted to leave this here, because my journal can't be the only one I express my gratitude to. I can't even begin to understand, let alone explain why, but even with all the emotionally intense climaxes Katawa Shoujo has, the most memorable scene of the game for me was the bar segment in Hanako's route. Playing billiards with her and seeing her being comfortable with somewhat opening up emotionally to Hisao for the first time really stuck with me. It's been years but it still feels like I could almost sentence by sentence recite the whole segment.

I've only heard (or at least had the curiosity to make me care enough to remember that time) about Katawa Shoujo about 2 months ago, and I found out when I was watching a video about personified warship's dialogue. Then I heard this very song and thought: "this music sounds very good, I'll go search it on Google." Did that, then started learning what Katawa Shoujo and now want to play it. However, that has to wait for a few years b/c I'm not 18, and I'm trying not to spoil it for myself.
