The unique thing about this enemies to lovers is that they are visibly smitten from the beginning although also competitive. So when Kate overheard him talking, she was so disappointed that this man she was initially drawn to had such a cold approach to love. That’s actually what happens in the book. Anthony and Kate get caught together after the bee sting and he’s socially pressured to marry her. Edwina is like “oh that’s chill, he’s clearly been into you the whole time anyway lol”, and Anthony is like “i guess we gotta get married but I WILL NOT fall in love with you because ew love” and Kate is like “whatever, I won’t fall in love with you either, I can’t believe I gotta marry you, goddamnit” and then fall in love. It’s VERY similar to Daphne and Simon’s story line, like waaaaay too similar honestly. I’m glad they changed it up for the show.

I cry everytime. He’d been holding in so many repressed emotions for YEARS. At nineteen years old he had to become surrogate father, surrogate husband, head of household-all while not being able to grieve his father because he had to take care of his siblings since Violet had checked out emotionally. Violet saying she wished baby Hyacinth had killed her so she could be with Edmund had to be hard for Anthony to hear. Imagine both your mother and father dying tragically within days of each other.

This is how you write a romance and develop it throughout the season, by making them share important common points and interests. Both characters took charge of their families from a young age and believed they would never be able to love and be loved by someone else entirely. Together they overcame challenges that made them work together and found amusing as well as lovely being by each other’s company. To eventually finding comfort and love in each other, together they found hope and a future were love could fill their homes and hearts. They arent just lovers but best firends as well, which is why they are my favorite couple of the series!

Actually I think it was totally opposite. He saw that kate was silent being good girl and all, not bantering with him or saying anything after that bee incident so when Edwina said kate is an excellent shooter ....he said "ofcourse she is " sarcastically ....and kate didn't say anything just quietly gave him a "go to hell" look. When Edwina insisted kate that tell him about your hunting experience and kate was again silent because she was avoiding him .....so anthony started making fun of her with Edwina saying your sister may manage and all ....that was when kate snapped and said " you think it's not true? " .... Basically during that scene he was baiting her to say something after bee incident because she was ignoring him and was also ignoring that bee situation. Anthony was the one who brought up BOSOM thing ....again because he was not liking the fact that kate didn't gave any importance to that encounter . He felt desire for her but it was killing him that she's not feeling the same thing. It went like this all through 4th episode. She was avoiding him(during the dance too she was focused on Edwina avoiding what anthony wanted to hear but anthony was focused on what she wants) ....until he snapped in the library that leads to panic attack that made him proposed Edwina 😂😂

I think despite Anthony saying he wanted to marry edwina, his siblings shipped him with Kate. Kate clearly fit in perfectly during the game and Colin hit the ball towards where she sent Anthony’s basically making them go off together and alone to retrieve them. Benedict clearly sees the chemistry in their banter during this scene. Also Daphne knows and the mom knows and I’m sure they ship as well. When fencing with his brothers he was also mentioning how Kate always likes to be right in everything and Benedict teased him about how he is exactly the same basically so I’m sure the brothers saw since the beginning that him and Kate have much in common and would make an ideal match.

In the book, during the library scene, Anthony finds her and comforts her until she can control her panic attack, it's the first time that you could really see how much he cares about her, it is actually the first time he calls her Kate and not Miss Sheffield, which is the original name in the book
