Very Hollywood-like and not historical. It’s a well made representation of a Fantasy Viking. The Norse were some of the cleanest People up until the Rennaissance (in a battle sequence it’s different of course).The costume is total Fantasy. Nothing like that ever existed. But she did a great job at integrating the animal hair with his own hair.

The facial tattoo.. what was it drawn on and with what ... please
@Apollo_Blaze3 жыл бұрын
The face tattoo is sold ready made and they are temporary and are just put on the skin by applying a wet cloth to the paper backing then peeling the paper off gently and the tattoo stays on the face. You can look for and buy temporary tattoos online, they come in all styles.

Was that a custom-made tattoo? I can't find it at tattooednow.
@pamlondonmakeup7 жыл бұрын
Hello Lee, It wasn't a Tattooednow tattoo but a tattoo from Maekup (David Stoneman) book of classic for Viking tattoos. We also suggest you could use tracing paper and tattoo pens.. Hope that helps :)

Is there any historical evidence that Vikings shaved their heads and wore tattoos?
@scythescythe8845 жыл бұрын
Tattoos, yes. Mummies have been found with intricate work all over the world including the north. Shaved heads? It's questionable. The literal frozen dead bodies had parts of their hair missing but it's hard to tell if it's because of the decay or by choice. But they did do many of the braids that way.

Cool video process here. I would simply like to mention one thing historically inaccurate you mention, and I only want to bring information, not point flaw so I say this with the best sentiment; We did not wear tattoo to scare our opponents. It is a misconception from the other cultures whom came across Norsemen. I am Norwegian (but I live in Canada) and grew up with those stories, then later found different versions of Europe and Westernisation and their idea of what was seen differently, and why. In fact, our tattoos represented our family, group of people, region, etc. We decorated our bodies with inks to ensure we could find one another again in the Afterlife. Another use of it was for Warriors. To honor Odin and Frigg of their many symbols so that when they died, they would be recognised as the most true into Valhalla. There were many more reasons and representations but those were the main two. Overtime, it has been said it made us look scary and we probably accepted it. (For example against England and Arabic folks) But it was not the true nature. Hope this bring a bit of knowledge, again I really like your process!
