Kate performs "Running Up That Hill" with David Gilmour in 1987.
Lyrics:
It doesn't hurt me
Do you want to feel how it feels?
Do you want to know; know that it doesn't hurt me?
Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making?
You
It's you and me
And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
Be running up that building
Say, if I only could, oh...
You don't want to hurt me
But see how deep the bullet lies
Unaware I'm tearing you asunder
Oh there is thunder in our hearts
Is there so much hate for the ones we love?
Tell me we both matter, don't we?
You
It's you and me
It's you and me, won't be unhappy
And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
Be running up that building
Say, if I only could, oh...
You
It's you and me
It's you and me, won't be unhappy
Come on baby
Come on darling
Let me steal this moment from you now
Come on angel
Come on, come on darling
Let's exchange the experience, ooh...
And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
With no problems
Say if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
With no problems
Say if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
With no problems
Say if I only could
Be running up that hill
With no problems
If I only could
Be running up that hill
If I only could
Be running up that hill

This was the 1st time that she performed this song, 2 years after it's release and mainly because David Gilmour asked her to do the show. I hadn't seen this performance, 'til today, and it was incredible. I grew up, trying to emulate Gilmour's guitar tone, so this is like double awesome! I can't hear this song and not be emotionally moved. When Kate says "So much hate for the one's we love" , I really felt that. Or when she says" It's you-ou-ou and me , it's you and me-e-e" putting the emphasis on "you" and then on "me", that was subtle but so effective. I'm glad that Kate Bush's music is being appreciated, today, in the year 2022. She was unique and her music is a work of art that should be heard and appreciated.

It just so happens, what he was doing was creating one of Floyd’s undying albums in 1975’s . With his guidance, Kate Bush was able to become an icon of British music and challenge Pink Floyd for their unique crown.

@@DJFalkoHannover Look, I like Kate Bush, and yes she was discovered by David Gilmour because he was taken by her talent. But in no way shape or form she challenged Pink Floyd. What he was doing was creating one of the band's undying albums with Waters. They started recording Wish You Were Here at the end of 1974-start of 1975. Kate Bush is great don't get me wrong. For any new young fan's of Kate, the guitarist Dave Gilmore of the group Pink Floyd discovered Kate when she was about 14 in the early 1970's. When she came to the recording studio she turned up with over 200 self written songs. The best of these were used for her first two albums when she was finally revealed to the world in 1978.

Love this version of this song!!! But no matter which version you like best, the rhythm and unique sound make you want to hear it over and over again. Really awesome it's made a comeback in '22!!

I have a weirdly, I don’t know, possessive feeling about Kate Bush. I was living in Yemen when Wuthering Heights came out. I had a short wave radio that only worked sporadically, but I did manage to catch that song and it made a huge impression on me. I had to wait until I returned to the States before I could get any information about her, and there was little of it then. There must be a word for the feeling you get when an artist becomes well known, but you were a big fan before that.
