I'm italian, and I first listened to Kate Bush in 1978, I was 8. I was mindblown. Since childhood I've always been attracted to weird, ethereal, kind of wrong time signature style songs, with hypnotic percussions, in fact this is one of my favorite songs from her, I was in love straight away and I was just a child. To me Kate Bush is like an elf, a timeless character and musician who'll never run the risk of being forgotten.

This is so unique! I remember watching for the first time and just thinking it was so weird but now, even though I wouldn’t put it as one my favorite songs from her, there’s something so curious that keeps drawing me to this video.

She (this) is so mesmerizingly powerful - visually, sonically and spiritually. Not a pop artist, but simply a 'true artist' is Kate Bush. On a whole other level to any other singer-songwriter-performer of her time.
@isobeljames13284 ай бұрын
She's a singer, songwriter, composer, PRODUCER. A mini tour in 1979 and a residency in 2014 : she's not a performer but considers herself as a studio singer..... It's just a video and a choreo....at my watch it's 2024, she's 66 years old and we have enough hindsight to not reduce and define to the choreo of her early videos after all those years of creativity in studio.... Just need to say that to people who don't take time to read the credit on album = she's a songwriter composer producer, and used to dance in her videos...

@@isobeljames1328 My reply and tone was actually entirely sarcastic. You didn't gather that? I guess irony is lost on some. Anyway, we are both agreeance that Kate Bush is a wonderful artist. I love so much of her work, but we don't all have to worship at her altar, so do lighten up. But once again, thanks for the education and setting me straight isobel.

This album really blew my head at the time, and it still does !... For me, it's her best one. Anyway, it's a white stone in the pop/rock music story, without any doubt ! Incredible, ambitious, without a single 'false note', a real masterchief, an earthquake in the middle of the 80's !

To the person who said its about nuclear threat (I can't reply to older comments thanks to the stupid new youtube comments): It's actually about the mistreatment of aboriginal Australians at the hands of european settlers. You're fairly close with the nuclear aspect though, but its referring to the nuclear tests that occured in aboriginal sacred land.

1. The (now not so new) youtube comment policy is CRAP. 2. The English, the French, the Spanish and the Netherlandish(?), raped every "new" territory they came across. Most successfully the English. That is why we speak their language all over the world. Hail to the RAPERS!
