Kate Bush is ORIGINAL, incomparable there is simply no one like her! I love how she has inspired many artists from so many varying genres throughout her career. I love Maxwell's version of this song, but she brings that "something extra" to the table IMO.

This will forever be my favorite song. So much work has been put in this song where it will never be like any other and people rarely can sing it cuz its a hard song to sing. I can feel it its amazing and Maxwell topped it off even though this song was already topped off lol but I really love his version too its heartfelt. I absolutely love this song, Maxwell made a wonderful rendition. But, nothing can take the place of Kate's original, because it is from her heart of a women. I listen to this song so often. My sister passed away February, 2014 and this song represents her work, her heart and the love and honor that I will always have for her. Thank U Kate!!

i could be wrong but right at the climax of this piece she says ''all the things that she wanted from me, all the things that she needed from me'' and whilst listening to this song i figured it was from a female perspective speaking about her lover dying but at that moment i realized all that emotion is oozing from a male characters perspective and i felt a surge of emotion overcome me. Sometimes we forget the kind of emotion men feel as they keep it bottled up but this song was an eye opener for me about the desperate love men have for their partners just the same as women do. That is something else, its amazing how Kate Bush portrayed this.

Top of the Pops were fairly well known for it too. The reason for it, originally, was that if the equipment failed, and it was a live show, then the band and the show were in trouble, since they were caught for time, and would have to find a way to fill the air space. (Finding the fault could take quite some time, and these shows were live). So miming to a tape was easier. If the show was recorded, then singing live was not an issue.
