My sister sent a clipping from the local paper back home about Katie and what she was up to, long, long, long time ago when she went to LA from Chugiak. (I used to go to school with her step brother.) It's a new year and I just got to thinking about what she's singing now, and I realized I'd been hearing her all along over the years. I bet no one would believe me if I tell them this beautiful songstress lived on the other side of Birchwood Loop Road, that we both in the shadow of the same high snow-covered mountains, and purple sunrises and endless summer. I wonder if Kate ever goes back to visit Chugiak to visit with her son.
