Seven years ago a routine exam showed that I had cancer and I immediately had to have surgery and then I had chemotherapy and radiation therapy as part of my treatment plan. I will say this about chemo, it total wrecks your immune system so Princess Catherine MUST remain somewhat secluded to avoid coming into contact with germs of all kinds. We were told at the very start that she would be out of the public eye until after Easter and long before Easter people were screeching and screaming and demanding to know where she was and what she was doing and what her prognosis was, etc. Now that we know what she is going through I hope everyone can leave her alone and allow her to recuperate without constantly howling for updates or demands that we see her. I wish the guy who posted the "Leave Britney alone" video here on YT many years ago would show up to update that to "Leave Catherine alone!"

This guy is not giving you the true picture. He's giving Kate so much wiggle room. So in Kate's case, they did do the CT/MRI/US and found something. No body does surgery without a lot of imaging unless it is emergent, even then they'll at least do a non-contrast CT. This surgery was a "planned elective surgery", but it was urgently scheduled. They were concerned for cancer, but likely told her that "it may not be cancer, but out of an abundance of caution, we'll treat it as it is, because not doing so could spread the cancer", then went about doing a staging laparotomy (left her with a foot long scar and 2 week hospital stay) surgery for ovarian cancer (ovaria cystadenocarcinoma) for a very "suspicious" lesion on her ovary, which was too big for laparoscopic removal or had malignant features on the imaging (combination of Ultrasound/CT/MRI). Once they opened her abdomen, they knew what it was. Either the same day or on day 2, the pathologist probably knew it was cancer. There was no point in Kate informing the public of the details, because there is no rush in doing chemotherapy. You can wait 4-8 weeks to do adjuvant chemotherapy, because doing it sooner makes no difference. Again, they did not find out the cancer diagnosis weeks after surgery. They knew it was cancer hours to days after surgery. Also, doing adjuvant chemotherapy usually means they didn't catch it at the precancerous stage or exactly at Stage 1, before it spread, even the tiniest bit. Hopefully, what ever this truly is has a good prognosis. Having said this, most ovarian cancers are diagnosed late. Instead of asking for privacy, she should be an advocate and help other women so they can also get an earlier diagnosis with a hope for survival.

I've had diverticulosis ever since the evil man DT stole the election from Hillary Clinton. And even after he lost to Biden he's not letting go. It literally makes me sick. And my mother got "the D-word"(dementia) in 2018. That really makes me sick even though I'm not her caregiver (she lives in Parsons Health Center and I live in an independent living facility). So between the Trumpanzee and my Mum's D-word I have a lot of stuff to stress about. And this awful situation about lovely Princess Kate is on my list of stressors. It's horrible that we lost Diana. It would give me an ulcer if we lost Kate. I'm a worrywart, an HSP like Diana was, and autistic. The Wales family and Diana are one of my special interests. So please don't tell me not to worry, because I have to worry about people I care about including my favorite celebrities.

I am so glad to see this. People have been spouting off who have no idea of what they are talking about. As I registered nurse and a cancer survivor I have been telling people to leave her alone. If you need to do something pray for her but otherwise keep your mouths shut. I was considerably older when I was diagnosed with both ovarian and endometrial cancers. But it took me a good year to come back to my old self. I am now 10 years past my diagnosis with no recurrences. I had both chemo and radiation. Chances are very good that she will be fine…just let her heal in peace.

This is an opportunity for the general public to learn something about certain cancers. What symptoms would you look for if you might have ovarian, cervical, skin or colon cancer? It would be great if we had an advocate that can focus people's attention on something that can save someone's life though early diagnosis. Not everyone has access to the best doctors. Sometimes getting an ultrasound ordered for yourself is like pulling teeth. Then 5 years later you find out that your symptoms of bloating were due to ovarian cancer.

I had my first colonoscopy when I turned 50. I had been having IBS -D and was afraid it was cancer. Thank goodness it's just diverticulosis. Not fun, but from what I've heard, cancer is worse; it is hell. I've never had cancer and neither does Mum or my late Dad. But several of my aunts have had cancer. It's hell . Kate fills Diana's shoes so well. I hope she lives a long life despite this s****y disease. I will always love Diana and Kate, the two "People's Princesses". BTW when traumatic earthshaking events happen it gives me diverticulosis flare-ups. If anything happens to sweet Princess Catherine I'll really get sick. That's how wonderful I think she is. BTW I vomited when Diana died. (Not bulimia, just sudden INVOLUNTARY vomiting from stress. I don't have eating disorders but I have diverticulosis, IBS, and gastritis!) Traumatic earthshaking events make it worse. Diana's death traumatized me because I love her. Catherine needs to hang on and recover.

For anyone who’s concerned about the possibility of early ovarian cancer, there’s a test for the tumour marker known as CA-125. As this type of cancer doesn’t always have obvious early warning signs, at least this test is available. I’ve had breast cancer and have been in remission for 26 years and have had two D & C operations for early endometrial cancer, so all is okay due to keeping vigilant about symptoms. Breast, uterine and ovarian cancers are more common after you’ve had one of these other types as they’re estrogen-driven tumours. The other thing to remember re previous breast cancer is to tell your doctor if you’re experiencing any bone pain. Don’t presume it’s only due to osteoarthritis. I have arthritis in every joint but have x-rays and scans every year to keep up to date. If breast cancer becomes metastatic, it’s often in the bones. Good luck everyone! 🤗

Hello…. Im seen my husband going through cancer.. its been 4/5 years he had operation and many cession of kemo therapy first in the hospital thn they gave him pills to take day and night He felt dizzy no energy blisters in his mouth no taste of food inspite of all these ive never seen him lay on bed maybe afternoon or night he has been such a active person never ever complained… Now he say’s he has had enough and stopped the medication due to some reasons…. We have convinced him but we respect his decision too…..so if stop kemo cancer comes back dr told him he needs to take life time bit now he has stopped taking…… such is life

I went through the experience of cancer last year, basically my left tonsil turned into a tumor which after the biopsy turned out to be Non Hodgins lymphoma in an aggressive form, it should be mentioned that immediately after the operation the tumor started to grow alarmingly fast and i -I stopped the growth by switching to a keto diet to cut off the cancer's glucose supply, about 40 days after receiving the diagnosis from the biopsy I started chemotherapy, it took that long because I had to have surgery to implant a chemoport first. After I started the chemotherapy for lymphon obviously I continued the keto diet and after about three cycles of chemo the tumor disappeared, I performed all 6 cycles of chemo to be safe and at the end of November I completely finished the chemotherapy, after the CT in January I received confirmation that the cancer went into complete remission. Obviously I continue the keto diet to avoid its relapse, I recommend everyone to combine the classic chemo treatment with a keto diet to cut off the energy supply to the cancer cells.

As an MD myself, I am outraged by the press consulting with oncologists, "gravely" debating what Princess Catherine's diagnosis could mean: another unbearable bullying, lack of respect and the beginning of a new spree of feeding frenzy by irresponsible, despicable so called journalists. I am deeply disappointed by the colleagues, not in any way privy to the Princess's case, agreeing for a fee to demean themselves in front of the cameras, forgetting our most central duty as doctors: DO NO HARM! RESPECT the wish for privacy of Catherine, The Princess of Wales!

Thanks for this information. Even though these are not facts specific to Kate, this Dr. didn't lie and say it was and he gave us examples of cancer and how different cancers are treated. And according to lots of comments, there are many survivors out there. Hopefully Kate can share good news soon.
