Well done Kate! It only took you until now to dump Sophie, even though you had multiple chances to not even be involved with Sophie in the first place. Kate had feelings for Rana, so for one she should of NEVER got involved with Sophie. And Two, if she was honest from the start and told Sophie about Rana, Sophie could of made up her own mind if she wanted to continue the relationship. But no, the writers have decided to degrade and humiliate Sophie instead by Kate dumping her - classy. And to which I can never support Kate and Rana because of this!! Now if I see Sophie becoming a bitter and vengeful character after this then done!!! For to long soaps manipulate the cheaters as the sympathetic ones and the ones who have been cheating on, the bad guys. Example - Chesney or Shaun. Chesney was portrayed as the villain after Sineads cheating, leaving bad boy Daniel the winner. I hope and pray that we see a dignified Sophie after this. But if they turn her into a antagonist then Coronation Street needs new writers. #Sophiedeservesbetter

ahem, idk but i don't think i like either of them anymore. like, i was so team KANA (and i loved their earlier eps) but these last few episodes have been almost actively ruining their characters. like they're both totally OOC now. Kate is cruel and insensitive, Rana is inconsistent and now they're both cheaters. idk if the writers can fix this. Rana also seems so mean-spirited when it comes to Sophie, but it's her own fault Kate was with Sophie to begin with. i can't even be happy for them b/c they're being so careless with other ppls feelings. even Zeedan was OOC. and the writers seem to be trying to make us hate him to make KANA hooking up look justified while she's still married.

Characters on soaps always go through periods of being OOC. We just had quite a spell with Kate in order for the writers to continue Rana's journey and that was a bit tough but we knew she'd come back in the end. Happens with most characters on a soap that's on every week of the year for 58 years. The writing can't remain stellar all the time sad to say. I'm not sure if you've seen older episodes with Kate but this is her. These are some of her flaws. Rana on the other hand is very different but that's because the original series producer who hired Bhav had clearly different ideas for Rana. luckily, Kate Oates saw the light and here we are. Specifically on the Sophie issue, I could say that when you're in love you can get tunnel vision, or a tad heartless in order to be with the person you're in love with. I've been heartless myself because you're blinded by the strength of your feelings so you say and do things you wouldn't usually. How Kana have been treating others will come back to effect them it seems based on early spoilers. Zeedan already they are beginning his 'redemption' arc if you will. I'd say him and Sophie both came off better arguably tonight to the general public. So it is swings and roundabouts.

hey there! yeah, i totally get it. soaps can get a bit weird when the writers are trying to build drama and tension. i just hoped it would've been done in a way that felt more authentic to the characters. it's frustrating because i'm invested in their story-line, and i want to feel like i'm always on their side, but this ep made me feel like i was watching two careless people be careless. and it's not like abrupt characterization shifts are anything new. we saw similar ooc behavior/writing in the 31 01 18 episode for kate, and ppl pounced on the writers then for basically having her out Rana. it's the same here. it takes more than teasing an endgame to keep a story compelling, and soap or no soap writing needs realism AND consistency. even Rana's confidence seems to have sparked out of virtually nowhere, and while i'm glad she's finally being more assertive with her relationship, the turnabout gives me whiplash. She and Kate didn't speak for like 5 straight eps and BAM after one conversation she on the spot decides Enough is Enough and she's gonna do whatever she wants? it's the kinda revelation we've all been waiting for (just like the Sophie break-up), but it's getting rushed by indelicate writing imo. Still, i'm curious to see what happens next, and i'll still keep watching because, like i said i'm invested now. ;) thank you for posting these scenes and for being so quick as well!

B Jay Ah I do understand. Honestly, I agree with you I think. It's been a rush to the reunion and I would have liked a few extra scenes leading up to it. These are big decisions they're making, especially for Rana of course. I just try to be devils advocate or be optimistic that it will pick up again as usual. I worry about being disappointed after being so invested as you say :)

B Jay: Kate and Rana are not cruel. Do you know how much patients Kate had with Rana,I would of give up? That's love, true love. Kate had her little fling with Sophie cause she was deeply hurting by Rana. Left for awhile then returned cause she thought she would get over Rana. Now Zee move bad if this was my wife yes I would of say things I never meant and try to find out why and say how I feel. But pride now watch it's too late.Kate and Rana have been there for each other so much times whether they are talking or not.This makes people stronger.Let me ask this question why when Kate heartbroken in situations she and Sophie last for five minutes then Kate finds another?Cause they are both different by far.Come on seriously. Kate is never to much for Sophie they just don't compare.
