As a Serbian, I have always been intrigued by the similarity in the names of one of the earliest Serbian and Russian states. This similarity makes me skeptical of the Germanic theory. The Serbian state was known as Rashka, with its capital named Ras. The terms "Rus" and "Ras," as well as "Ruska" and "Rashka" (Ruski, Rashki), are strikingly similar. I doubt that this is merely a coincidence, as suggested by the "Vienna-Berlin" school of history. I don't think those who come from the US can grasp this very well. That is to a good degree due Protestantism which is what the US is founded on which is basically Freemasonry. From the theological point of view, the differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy are not great. One of them is the acceptance of divorce which is clearly rejected by Jesus himself. It seems to me that if there were more understanding, these differences could be worked out. If Christianity is a universal religion, the kind of politics can vary. Both sides would be enriched. As for Protestantism l, it has deviated so much from the original traditions that it doesn't seem possible for it to open and correct it's errors. If there were a greater effort on the Catholic and Orthodox side. union could be achieved. However, Orthodoxy is now fragmented. When I read Orthodox website, they tend to attack Catholicism and call us heretcs. The truths is that on not a few occasions, Orthodoxy was defended by the Roman Popes against the excesses of Byzantines Empowers. I disagree with the idea of Moscow as the third Rome. The prevalence of Rome it's political, but theological. It is based on the fact that the two great apostles Sts. Peter and Paul were martyred in Rome. So, there can be no second or third Rome.

@@TacticalMayo True, this is what I meant. All of Christendom was Catholic (universal). The orthodox, meaning original, view of Christian doctrine is the view of the Catholic Church. Many Orthodox agree with Roman primacy as it was the thought of the Church as a whole in the early years. Especially when disputes had evolved. The Filio Que is something that truly causes separation today but as a Catholic I feel it affirms Christ’s oneness with the Father. Many Orthodox, unless I misunderstood, don’t.

Hi, I am a Catholic American. This was very informative. I love Russia's patriotism and I love my Orthodox brothers and sisters. My Grandfather was an immigrant from Denmark, my great-grandparents were immigrants from Ireland, Sicily, Bavaria and Nova Scotia (originally French and Scottish). Apparently someone in my mothers Bavarian family was originally Russian about 5-6 generations ago because my DNA revealed that. I have living cousins there and that helped change my perspective on many things. My God bless us all and keep us.

I'm Romanian and I watched this documentary with great curiosity. I never knew Moscow was viewed by Russians as "The third Rome". I never knew Russians consider themselves to be torch-bearers of the original Christian faith. I have mixed feelings about the issues raised by this documentary. On the one hand, I totally stand with the Russian people in opposing the globalist, neo-marxist, "rainbow" agenda (but we all know the leftist professors who corrupted 2-3 generations of western kids with these ideas, actually came from the communist east and were likely infiltrated by the USSR in western universities) On the other hand, I know Moldova. Before WW2 ended, it had a 90% Romanian population. Today it's 50% Russians, and that had a lot to do with the deportations that followed after WW2, by which entire villages of people were "re-located" to Siberia by means of cattle trains; many died en-route, very few survived to the harsh winters of Siberia. So yeah, Republic of Moldova is 50% Russian as we speak, but that was a great injustice of history from Romania's point of view. Anyway, I have nothing against the Russian culture. I only know 2 or 3 Russians, and they are good people. (However, Stalin was a monster and whoever defends Stalin's murders cannot have my respect). I know Eastern Ukraine was part of Russia before USSR leaders gave it to Ukraine as a goodwill gesture (because Ukraine itself was a province of USSR, behind the Iron Curtain, and it didn't really matter anyway - oops, now it does matter once more) We Romanians don't like the EU either. No country in Europe likes the EU. We just want to live in peace and not have to die in wars that don't benefit anybody. Peace to all!

From the beginning of the Bolshevik revolution until almost the death of Stalin, there were practically no Russians in the government of this country, and those who were there very quickly disappeared into the camps. See how the USA has been at war 'fighting terrorism' or 'communism' since the 1970's = the exact same time that the value of money changed from the gold standard to the Petro standard. And realize our govt has stolen the oil from all those nations AND installed military bases and USA embassy's in order to protect the oil companies' theft. Look into Dick Chaney's oil company (co-owned with Murdoch & Rockefeller) illegally drilled for oil in the Golan Heights of Syria where they found that the Gaza strip has vast amounts of oil (true reason for war with Syria). Determine why the USA would promote genocide and displacement of the Palestinians = to steal the oil without having to sign agreements and/or pay reparations. And they also want to build the Ben Gurion canal there. Realize the USA has stolen the oil from every country it has invaded 'for national security' reasons (to maintain dominance over the petrodollar). Understand that the USA went crazy when Russia was going to put missiles in Cuba YET the USA has now surrounded Russia with NATO military and expect them not to be concerned about it. And NATO military did NOT surround Russia because of Ukraine or Crimea, but because Russia wanted to sell their oil cheaper than the USA price (competition). The USA supplied the Ukraine AZOV militia with weapons in order to attack their own people in the Donbas region (on the border with Russia) in hopes that Putin would either cave in to the price demands OR go in with his military so they would have a reason to overthrow him in a war situation. Putin waited EIGHT YEARS and tried multiple diplomatic solutions (yet wanted to maintain independence from being a puppet to the trade lords of NATO nations). Look up the Minsk Agreements and the two requests made to the UN by the Donbas region for sovereignty from Ukraine which the UN denied, yet they approved it for Yugoslavia and Kosovo and others. But deny the Donbas because it is being USED to antagonize Putin. Also, understand that Russia's oil had to be delivered through Ukraine using the Nordstream One pipeline for which he had to pay 'rent'. And the company called Burisma was where it went. And that the Biden family and the John Kerry family made sure their sons where placed as CEO's to that company. All criminal activity.!! And for questioning that, they tried to impeach Trump. So Russia built the Nordstream Two pipeline to bypass Ukraine and for that they got sanctioned by the USA (Ted Cruz led that bill). Why? Why is Russia not allowed to deliver their resources for trade how they see fit?? Are you starting to see the actual bad actors yet?? There seems to be a whole hell of a lot you are not understanding. And you never will if all you do is listen to the mainstream USA propaganda media. We all live on this one planet and we all need to learn to get along. But our tax dollars are spent on wars-for-oil from which only the Elites benefit. Our tax dollars are then further given to foreign countries to fund more wars-for-oil as well as rebuild their infrastructure to big corporations under government contacts to get rich from. And our tax dollars are sent to provide 'aid' to all the people our wars displaced from their homes & lives. Fair trade and reasonable minds could have prevented all these wars and debt rather than catering to the greedy Elites. And all the countries who don't agree with the USA get bullied and put under sanctions because we control the petrodollar. So that is why Putin and other countries have started the BRICS system of trade and fair money exchange without anyone being able to bully others. The NATO nation Elites are very scared about these pending changes to the lifestyles they have always had. But, for the rest of us on this planet, things will change for the better (if we don't see it, future generations will). There is far more to it all than I have said but you need to research it all for yourself, and not through the TV media. But by actually looking things up.
