If only she’d had a coach who helped her like Miss Val did. So much talent.
@You-dh1du5 жыл бұрын
You're not going to find a coach "like Miss Val" in elite gymnastics. At the elite level, the culture of gymnastics is just different. You have a whole bunch of vulnerable young woman and girls, competing for the very VERY low chance of winning an olympic medal or even making the olympic team. Consequently, coaches are pushing gymnasts often beyond their physical and mental limits, but yeah elite gymnastics isn't really a pleasant experience, but it's not just the coaches who make elite so unenjoyable for gymnasts. Elite gymnastics basically places children and young adults into a stressful position they really aren't prepared for. Sad but quite true.
@You-dh1du4 жыл бұрын
@Russell Hayman lol sure there are good coaches but in a sea of awful coaches. It's like when I would go out before the pandemic...there are a few good guys in an ocean of fuckboys.
@You-dh1du4 жыл бұрын
@Russell Hayman I fully agree with my statement. It's not asinine. Look at how many female gymnasts struggling with mental issues due to not only their coaches but also the sport itself. You have young girls working full time for a shot at the olympics which is such an extremely small possibility especially in the US where the program is quite strong rn. Consequently, coaches are pushing these gymnasts to their breaking point in hopes that they will differentiate their gymnasts from others. It's the sport. Sure Simone Biles had a good coach which interestingly she didn't stick with too long, and plus we don't train with the coach so maybe they also are awful behind cameras. Also, um I hope you don't talk like this in-person whenever you enter a discussion with someone else: "Wrong" "You're schooled" "backpedaling" you sound asinine just by your diction alone. But it's a new year and maybe that can be an area for you to work on. Stay safe love.

@@jealousharibo I followed her when she was an elite. She was spectacular, but she ALWAYS seemed miserable. It was a massive shame she wasn’t eligible for 2012. She would’ve absolutely made it on that team and they could’ve used her on bars and beam. She was exceptional. But it stands to reason that success does not bring happiness. She is so much more positive and full of vim and vitality in her college footage. Because that elite pressure isn’t looming over her. She started to hate the sport because of the pressure she felt. She was an exceptional athlete and still is but it’s hard to go for 2016 when you are burned out, battered and bruised physically and mentally. She’s happy now and that’s all that matters. I just always thought; imagine if she was eligible for that 2012 Olympic team. She would’ve challenged for an All-around medal and a beam medal.

Damn! She would be a major threat to Simone if she wasnt injured! She did even a harder routine back then than Simone and would even get harder and better as time progress. It would have been 1. Ohashi 2. Simone and 3. Another USA competitor and the rest of the World far behind the two. But the world isnt ready for such dominance and duel of two greats. But atleast faith gave us Simone for the world to catch up and eventually everyone to upgrade and get harder routines.

She didn't join the Olympics that year too? She would have been the brightest star at this Tokyo 2021, So sorry that she skipped the previous ones at Rio, Beijing and London. But after reading her story on the elite USA Olympics team, it's indeed the correct decision to go to UCLA instead of the Olympics. Looking at her enjoyment performing her collegiate routines was indeed a very touching moment for me. Enjoying her most loved sport and priority to one's health and happiness is indeed of a lot more importance than the Olympics medals. Prestige, glory and fame is no less.

Yeah Larissa had an upgrade to her routine recently in 2013 after her injury as well. She competes to full tucks on beam, one in the laid out posistion as well and Larissa might have a better chance knowing that she was training an Amanar before her injury in 2012. Also her floor is more difficult then Ohashi's, so I sense an intresting all- around competion at Worlds. Also, Komova might be in it as well as Yao, Aliya increased her difficulty and Russia has hopeful juniors.WE STILL HAVE 4 YEARS!

Takes tremendous focus to do such hard skills up there, notice the guy with the camera moves just before she bobbles? Your eyes are trained to look around you before you flip and it can actually tip your balance if there's something moving out of the corner of your eye. Other gymnasts competing is what you'd normally see while working out, that guy was a distraction and I'm glad he stood still for the rest, she rocked from there, I'd have still been shaky myself.
