@ube80 age of 16, the minimum age required to compete internationally as a senior. Don't worry about being ignorant. You have to start from somewhere. I learned almost everything I know about gymnastics from youtube videos. @ube80 Katelyn is only 13. To be eligible for the olympics a gymnast must turn 16 by the end of the olympic year. SHe will only be 15 in 2012 and therefore will not be age eligible for the olympics until 2016. Though this is an excellent routine (especially when you consider her age) it is slightly below the level of the best gymnasts in the world. For comparison, the difficultly score of this routine is 6.1. The current bean world champion, Ana Porgras of Romania, has a difficultly score

@ube80 of 6.5. Katelyn does have many great skills in this routine that are world class skills. at :26 the skill she does, called an Onodi, is a very difficult skill. Also the skill she does around :38 is rated as a G element, meaning it is rated as the most difficult element you can do on beam. Also at :47 she does a switch ring leap also very difficult. She also has incredible poise and grace on beam. The girls at this competition are Jr. elites, meaning they are elite gymnasts under the
