This was on the CBS morning News on July 5, 1982, after I won the silver medal at the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS in 1982. I went to Varna the next year. I was interviewed in this by Diane Sawyer.

I remember her when I skated at Skye Rink in New York City. Her figure skating really stood out, amongst many talented skaters there. She's always been one of my faves, both in Ballet & Figure Skating, having such a unique and exquisite style. I hope she is doing well! - Lynda

The fact that she never became a fully competitive figure skater saved her artistically...She switched between not so different means of expression throughout her career and she always gave the impression to be right where she wanted to be at a given moment. She's truly a prodigy; when she was 15 or 16, she was hired by Sir Frederick Ashton to dance Juliet in London - on a principal's contract! This means she was considered the peer of people almost double her age.

she also came at Opéra de Paris to dance with Patrick Dupont in Etudes (quite an Himalaya for dancers !) and she dit it beautifully ! she did'n't have only technique but a lot of joy, bravery and style, and this the more important !

I remember you at Melissa Hayden's studio, practicing figure skating jumps. How did you both these demanding disciplines? Amazing on Ice and off.
