@@ZEBEEtheoriginalyep when _she_ thought the writing had gone from that to less than that. We hate that Hollywood is fake, phony, corrupt + predatory, but look what happens when an actress is honest about what she thinks + feels. Financially it’s best that they be fake + phony.

The entire Denny series was incredible. This scene and the scenes with Dennys ghost were her best work on that show. Just iconic. & That’s 100 percent why it’s still around what they did those first 6 seasons was unforgettable, they’ve continued to try and capture that M.A.G.I.C, but it can only exist with the OGs.

I appreciated that they talked about this idea of "what we will do/sacrifice for great art." Huge fan of Katherine's work on Grey's. In my opinion, that scene was incredibly real and thankfully everyone brought their game in that amazing second season (especially the last couple episodes with that Denny arc my GOD). To contribute to the conversation, as a fan, I think we also often forget the real pain behind the writers when they created their art for the actors to even read. For instance, I know Krista Vernoff wrote the episode where George's dad died after her own dad died. I remember one of the other writers said that they had to write an episode where she channeled the experiance where her real life husband had a surgery where he might die. They each chose to write those episode because they cared so much about the art and couldn't imagine any one else writing it because they had lived the experience. By the second season, they poured so much reallness into the project. So Katherine, I think it's something that the artists need to consent in doing, however, that is what makes for magic. When we are writing and performing with our experience. And the combination of the writing of that scene with your performance made a product so beautiful and authentic that many artists will strive but never reach. Equally superb storytelling and acting.

I watched this episode on Christmas day. My family were so concerned because I was literally crying and it took me a long time to get out of my room. Such a very heart wrenching yet good episode

I agree. That scene was so gut wrenching. It makes me sob uncontrollably every single time. Even just remembering and not rewatching it makes me want to cry.

Not only she was best in this episode but even in the first five episodes of season 3 after Denny Izzie seems dead from inside like when she is on that bathroom floor , fails to cross the hospital entrance when she comes back or holds her stethoscope again. And that again makes you to appreciate Katherine Heigl as an actor much much more ❤
