It's even more sad bcuz before her death she had the see the head of the one she truly loved placed on a spike. Even tho incest with your own cousin is gross, I'm happy that she was reunited with him shortly after witnessing it and I hope they are happy in the afterlife together.

Yeah the show depicted her as a whøre, this show VERY inaccurate to the point where its sad i mean they could at least get her looks right, also in real life cathrine was an abused child, and a r#pe victim , at 12-13 she was r#ped by her music teacher, at 14-15 she was r#ped by francis dereham, then she was forced to marry henry and was then blackmailed by Thomas into sleeping whit him, she dosent deserve anything that happened to her, also at that scene where she was running in real life she was screaming in sadness, now shes a ghost hounting the Hampton Court palace, if you go there late you might hear her screams, so as we might say.............. Beware the screams Of Kathryn Howard

the rape victim story, while it suits our postmodern values, is unlikely and those claims seem to be a desperate attempt to save her life. Much more likely that, with her education and station, even before she was queen, that she was an instigator. Manox was not much older than she was, their lessons would have been chaperoned, she sent him love letters and, as a lady, he would have need permission to touch her. He also never went to her dormitory, though they likely did other things elsewhere. Again she sent gifts and letters to Dereham, he was ranked will below her so needed her permission, she had stolen the keys to the dormitory where she would let the men in and she called him husband. Plus the servants and her roommates saw them in the act. Whether she and Thomas slept together is unknown, just that they met in secret. Possibly he did have an eye on her fortune should she be widowed but again she wrote love letters to him and was under no obligation to meet him due to her rank. In her favour; she would not be considered a whore by today's standard, she was sold to the king by her family when they knew she was damaged goods, her family pretty much enabled her behaviour, and it is understandable that she felt no attraction to a 50 something year old obese man that she was made to marry. However, was taught sex outside of marriage was a sin form a very young age and reminded of that fact- though not harshly enough- when the Dowager Duchess caught her kissing Henry Manox, and her cousin had been executed for allegations of adultery while married to the king. Play with fire and you will get burned.

But not necessarily they had sex. For medieval times even just being with love considered adultery, especially she was a Queen. This love put a stain on king's reputation. So he cut their heads. No one cared about love that times. (Sorry if my English is not good, not my first language)
@sindelscat93364 жыл бұрын
@@ОляОленька-э8л it's all right, and actually throughout history flirting wasn't necessarily considered adultery, it was just frowned upon especially when it was done by women, in some cases men got away with it more often but only in some.

Pretty much certain that they met in secret, which was just not done then, queen or no. What happened in those meetings is obviously not documented. If they did have sex, neither Katherine, Thomas or Jane were going to reveal that in the hopes of any chance of saving their bacon.

Well Cathrine Howard is my aunt her Mother is one of my Grandmothers. I have done my genealogy so I know. Culpepper is also my relative. There isn’t any proof they had sexual intercourse and I really don’t like how they portray her in the Tudors. She was young naive and taken advantage of and of course she didn’t love Henry. It is sad she didn’t think about the risk she was taking meeting him alone. The letter she wrote him sealed her fate. The Tudors portrays her as a loose woman and that I don’t like at all.
