It will always have a place in my heart because this was the last Christmas episode of Dr. Who i got to watch with my grandfather. And the message here was what grandpa always told me. Love is blind and eternal. As long as you love and are loved there is no end. Just a new chapter in life and eventually all who you love will see you again. In this life or the next.

The thing I loved most about the Doctor's companions is that they were never perfect. Rose was a poor shop girl who never really saw herself going anywhere since she gave it up over a mistake. Then she meets the Doctor and is able to show that she is loyal and brave and that she would do anything, even if it meant destroying herself, to save the man who saved her. It killed her to finally leave the Doctor, but Rose never gave up hope that they would be together. Mickey was a mechanic who didn't really know what to do when a crisis occurred, but did his best to support Rose anyway. He ended up finding a new home and learning that he was brave and able to save others. That he didn't need to be clever or something spectacularly different in order to do the right thing. Captain Jack was a coward who was used to figuring his own way in the world - and was usually ignorant of the havoc he caused when he left. After he joined Torchwood, however, he learned that sometimes you need to shoulder responsibility and face what's coming with open arms. Martha was a POC medical student who was frustrated by how her parents always fought, and hoped that one day she could find someone that be with forever. The Doctor came, and although he liked her, he never realized how much he meant to Martha. But she didn't care. Martha walked the entire world and saved it, and, most importantly, realized when enough is enough. Donna was a temp from Chiswick who was used to being put down and scoffed at, as if she were a nobody that time would forget about. Her sassiness was her only defense, but it only worked so far. When she met the Doctor, Donna saved his life and learned that she was beautiful and brilliant and amazing, simply because she was Donna Noble. Amelia was a little girl forced to live in a adult world, always waiting for the childhood adventures that would never come. Then the Doctor came and showed her that the world is wonderful and dark and mysterious all at the same time. She learned that you are never too old for a Imaginary Friend, especially one as incredible as the Doctor. Rory was the third wheel his entire life, completely over looked by the one he loved. When he finally got his chance, Rory ended up dying, but proved that true love is something death itself couldn't stop. He waited for centuries for Amelia, and when he was reunited never stopped caring for her or loving her. River (Melody) was the killer who was determined to take fate into her own hands. The man she was destined to kill became her husband, and River fought to protect him and her parents, even though they never knew who she was. Her pain and suffering is equaled only to the Doctor's, but she doesn't care, so long as she can have her mad man with a box. Finally, there's Clara. The Impossible Girl. What little girl doesn't dream of a knight in shining armor whisking her away? But no matter how hard Clara tried, no matter what she did, or said, she always ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. In the end, she had to be the knight and face the dragon. And, ultimately lose. Thank you, Doctor Who. You taught me that even the greatest heroes and heroines aren't perfect. And that's OK

You have overlooked the Doctor's most loyal and constant companion, without whom his journey would never have been possible: Idris. Though given humanoid form only once for a brief time, she loved, protected, and helped the Doctor as no other could. Idris is as crucial to the story of the Doctor as the Doctor himself and she is as ageless as he and, arguably, more wise, for she took him not where he wanted to go, but to where and when he was needed. Idris was much more than the TARDIS; she was "The Doctor's Wife".

It was a perfect episode for Christmas, it really was a Christmas tale, not an episode on Christmas day with Christmas bits added on. It was beautifully constructed, original, moving, and thoroughly engaging. It was brave, as it took a chance with KJ's acting, but for me it will always be the best Christmas episode. Heavenly vocals from KJ.

Most beautiful episode of Doctor Who ever! So brilliantly written, beautiful song, and I love it when the Doctor says “See the bowtie? I wear it and I don't care. That's why it's cool.” That's wisdom. I wish people could understand that. Because people try and conform everybody to one particular style, shades of colors, how they wear what they wear. If we didn't all dress so differently and in our own way then humanity would become an ant colony. Is that what people really want? An ant colony?

When you're alone, silence is all you see When you're alone, silence is all you'll be Give me your hand and come to me. When you are here, music is all around. When you are near, music is all around. Open your eyes, don't make a sound. Let in the shadow, let in the shadow, Let in the light of your bright shadow. Let in the shadow, let in the shadow. Let in the light of your bright shadow. Let in the light. Let in the light. Let in the light of your sweet shadow. When you're alone, oh, Silence is all you know. Silence is all, Silence is all around. Silence is all Silence is all around
