I completely agree. Is it just me or does she sound less like a mezzo-soprano and more like a soprano with a flawed upper register? I notice when she sings nonclassical music, especially the cover that she does of Evanescence's Bring Me To Life live, she has a tendency to raise the upper notes and generally sings higher than the mezzo-soprano range that she claims to have. I personally think she forces herself to sing lower when singing opera to avoid exploiting the weaknesses in her upper range whilst overcompensating with her so called classical training when singing nonclassical music.

@@mikashrelestat2798 I've always heard her as a soprano with a seriously flawed upper register. The bottom of her lower register always sounds forced and overly darkened, probably in an effort to sound more like the mezzo she pretends to be. This is not an opera singer. She's pure popera.

Babbino is correct. In the opera, she is singing to her father. Babbino is dad, bambino is a boy.
