Shooting Dust
Rich is disgusted to be back in filthy London and wondering if a man performs an act of extreme slapstick and no one is around to see it, will it still be funny. Spoiler alert - yes it is. His guest is a comedian who proves that it’s possible to be wise, sane and still funny, Katherine Ryan.
They discuss their shared and slightly disappointingly vanilla DNA heritage, how to plan a city, wanting to marry Adam Sandler, if Jimmy Carr has time to spend his money, why comedians want to be taken seriously when being funny is much harder and better, things that you abhorred as a child but you like now, catching out cheating partners, why anyone would get married and how to be happy in life.

Carwardines was the coffee shop in Weston-S-mare, roasting their beans and pumping it into the High Street to encourage people to come in. There was also one in Bristol . One thing I used to love about Bristol was the smell of the Courage brewery as you could smell the malt, which was reminiscent of Shreddies!

'Hunger Games' must be some kind of hypnosis trigger phrase. I have tried to watch this three times and each time Rich gets to the part when he says, "Hunger Games" I fall asleep. Ironically, I went to the premier of that movie and contentedly slept through the whole thing - because it was dog shit. Hopefully, it won't happen this time around because I find RHLSTP anything but!

LOL that response was epic! Cheers for the giggle that I didn't get from asking my mates emergency questions because of the DRM on an app that only the hardcore Herring fan-base is going to pay for. I spent over £20 on all the packs and to have it not work without being online is pretty shocking! Still they have my money now what do they care.
@bulletproofblouse
@bulletproofblouse 6 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't you ask them by remembering the question? The problem will come after that when you don't have any emergency questions not committed to memory to follow it up and there's an awkward silence.

I wanted to let you know that I loaded this episode and forgot as I was playing online scrabble, only to have you actually make me physically jump at the full volumed HELLO at the beginning. I too have had a thumb tack right to the hilt into my big toe, but it was my sister's fault as it was on her bedroom floor. Also, I am mortally ashamed by the memory that in Grade 3, I placed a thumb tack point up onto my deskmate's seat because he was so annoying. I don't think it impaled his butt. Another point is that I think I just tried coconut licorice allsorts. They were ok. But they are orange, yellow and green coloured. Finally, for now, I find tipping point to be a good antidote to my insomnia.
@MM-dq2pi

It probably depends on the brand of allsorts too! I am not colourblind, those were the only colours in my packet.

The smell of coffee is a good one for the hate > love. I've always said that the celebrity who I am most like is you Richard Herring. From the similar age. Had our kids at similar ages. Girl then boy etc. I've always questioned the validity of science regarding what came before everything, that you touch upon in certain conversations. Politics wise we're polar opposites I suspect. But then you can't have everything. AND I've never worked with Stewart Lee. (That I can remember. Though I was drunk for a sizeable portion of the 80's/90's. so you never know..)

@@Herring1967 Long comment alert! If you would like to take the time, I'm all ears. How wonderful that you read these comments btw! This was an especially charming r h l s t p. It's just dawning on me that I am being too literal but I study and collect accents and languages and dialects - for my own amusement and not impirically. A Yorkshireman sounds nothing like a Welshman or somebody from Dorset or Leicestershire to me, not even vaguely so your accent comment really surprised me! We Torontonians are often told how non- descript, flat and uninflected we sound, and our accent is frequently cited as received North American if you know what I mean. Neutral/ international North American English. Incidentally I'm so glad you produce these podcasts and you are my favourite Taskmaster competitor - after Tim Key 😉

Tattoos are under the skin. But if you get tattoos on your hands they'll come off within a couple of years. Tattoos are in so many cells and you have so much skin but it's true that your whole body is not replaced every 7 years, like the guy in the audience said your brain cells don't get replaced and there are others too that once you lose them they're gone. Like teeth and some tendons like the discs between the bones in your spine. Unfortunately those don't grow back. I guess only healthy cells are replaced or we'd be able to grow new limbs.
