Swayambhu Nath temple dates back to 500 BC. Imagine Roman Empire hadn’t even really begun… so you can just marvel at the history of this place.

It was beautiful! I spent a good amount of time there. The city was awesome, I loved my time there. I would definitely go back!

Tourist trap is bit of a reach now. Its a UNESCO heritage site, so SAARC countries pay less, a little more for foreign nationals. Its for the upkeep because it a site. Also the dumplings you mentioned is Mo:Mo and they are aunthentic to Nepal. You got the steamed Mo:Mo. You have got to try a good Jhol Mo:Mo. You will love it more. Also the most important thing you missed is trying Newari food and famous sweet lassi in Durbar Square. Two things not to be missed in KTM after Mo:Mo.

I never heard of a jhol mo-mo, but sounds delicious! I will definitely travel to Nepal again, and I will refer to your comment! It’s a beautiful country and I loved my time there 💜

Paying in durbar square is not a tourist trap bro...kathmandu has many places that are listed in UNESCO world heritage sight..Nepal is a devloping country and its needed for maintaining the sites and for the future genz to have a look at it too...Namaste🙏

Do locals have to pay? I loved my time in Kathmandu, and would definitely go back! It’s a very beautiful country 🇳🇵💜
@Gilmour89Ай бұрын
@ No Sir, the locals doesn’t have to pay..U might know or not but the economy heavily depends on international tourist and its internal remittances..locals pay in a totally different way but the sum adds up to that as well…hope u enjoyed your visit..I saw the vlog of you trekking the EBC and had fun watching that episode too.🙏Namaste

@@FlyWithVeiga locals do pay for getting inside the palaces and museums but to just enter the square is free as the square itself is a local place surrounded by houses of local people on all sides so the square is the only road to get outside their neighborhood. Also the square is free to visit at evening and night for everyone including foreigners

Hahaha the electricity wires… they are doing something about it and have been doing it for the past half a decade…few places have now underground wire running which has cleared the space above…
@FlyWithVeigaАй бұрын
Haha that's great news. I noticed it was like that in some places, but not everywhere!

@@FlyWithVeigayeah the underground wiring project in Kathmandu should've been completed already but is late due to 1.5 years of inactivity due to covid pandemic
