I am a conservative and honestly didn’t care about much of the Trump “scandals” until the Kathy Griffin backlash after the photo. I lost all respect for Trump when he overreacted so badly. The way he misused his power to vilify a comic, simply because she is a woman, turned my stomach. It really showed how out of touch with reality Trump is and I lost faith in his ability to handle conflict rationally. He reacted like a spoiled child and I decided right then that I would not vote for him at reelection.

I haven't really paid attention to what she's been up to for the past 6-7years but now I'm getting back into her comedy again. I don't always find her funny and sometimes she does go overboard with the vulgarity but I do admire her soooo much more now, esp. what she said in the end about women helping each other. That is so true and so en pointe, across almost all fields, and I'm so glad that she has really brought that issue into the light.

Years ago I first saw Kathy on Leno and came away asking myself, "I don't get it. Why is she popular? She has no material." I could not have had a more inaccurate first impression. Her comedic gift, unbelievable recall and unmatched ability for one liner comebacks and wit is amazing. Often lost is just how incredibly intelligent she is. Can she be off putting and offensive? You bet. But we fans see that as part of what makes her so ineresting to watch.

Comedy brings the truth to the surface. Especially when it is about stupidity. Trump has a good chance of being elected because his stupid is so stupid no one has ever comprehended it. He shows the reason one person should not have so much power and privileges. People in jail should not be pardoned on a whim. He should not have any control over government agencies. The whole system is flawed. Little boy Mike should not be the speaker of the house. And those that voted for him should have to take the same bus as little boy Santos.
