DOLL was SCANDAL's major debut single released in 2008. 16 years ago, so it is no surprise that the girls were young. At that time, they were playing their instruments very hard. Their rough and ready performance was also attractive. As far as instrumental performance is concerned, the girls have improved wonderfully. They will release their 11th new album on March 20 this year. The new album is also very attractive.

These ladies are heading into their 18th year together in 2024 and they have missed a beat since 2006. I've become a huge fan of theirs for about 6 years now and enjoy their music a lot. The members are Haruna (lead singer/guitarist), Rina (drummer), Tomomi (bassist and kick-ass vocalist) and Mami, who is their virutoso lead guitarist. If you want to hear something more recent and a bit heavier check out their video for A.M.D.K.J., it's a real banger. My favorite song of theirs is a tie between "Shunkan Sentimental" and "Harukaze", both are great tracks. Another group you might enjoy and were contemporaries of SCANDAL is Sterepony, a band from Okinawa who were very popular in the same time period. Unfortunately they broke up about 11 years ago, but their music still resonates. Their best song for me is "Hitohira No Hanabira" and there's even a video on KZbin that shows SCANDAL and Stereopony performing the song on stage together. Just put in "Stereopony - hitohira No Hanabira - Ft. SCANDAL". Great reactions ladies !!!!

As is always the way I ended up finding a version with subtitles after the fact 🙄 I love Scandal and have for a long time. Every other Japanese band that I found I did so through a love of their music and the delightful girls they are. They are just a delight 😍 Regards Tabitha

Nice reaction. I was lucky enough to see them 18 months ago in London and get a couple of photos with them. It was a great night and they all have such likeable personalities. I love the DVD of this concert at Budokan, one of my favourite concerts. From this concert I would recommend “Burn” (the song + the traditional Japanese outfits that they wore for the first few songs) and the other songs from the encore “Kagerou” & “Space Ranger”. I have used THE NEW SCANDAL FAN for these as you can get English subtitles and the sound quality is good.

Ladies, I encourage you to watch the original music video for Doll...now that you see who these ladies...take a peek at how they started out as young (Rina the drummer was still a minor at the time of the MV) - the energy of the girls (back than) was amazing...they were my first Japanese band (I found them in 2013) and I view them with fondness and I still listen to their music! By the way, this Budokan was the girls' first Budokan, and it was also the culmination of their 5th anniversary. The best album has been released. The first chapter of SCANDAL, the end of the rock route. After that, a single song was released to accommodate the health of leaders Haruna, Tomomi, and Mami. At that time, the only person who wanted to follow the rock style of Doll's early debut was Rina, the drummer. She is the youngest member of the group and was 15 years old when she debuted. There, the staff suggested that I make my debut in uniform. At their live shows in America before their debut, uniforms and rock styles were popular. However, the uniform and key were destroyed along with the leader. Moreover, they were beginners in playing musical instruments and could hardly play them. Haruna, Tomomi, and Mami originally wanted to join a dance group. The only person whose motivation was completely different from the girls was Lina, the drummer, who didn't dance at all. The pop route that followed, and the current music route, was strongly influenced by the leader and three senior members.

This is the Japanese Pop-rock/Pop-punk band SCANDAL that holds the Guinness book world record for longest running all female band with the same continuous lineup at 17 1/2 years. The own the trademark on the band name after Smyth let it expire, and before Smyth there were 2 older bands that were called Scandal.
