The second vocalist are Dave Meniketti from Y&T. He's still going strong. 70 years old and his voice are still phenomenal. The original members unfortunately all died. Check out songs like Mean Streak, Lipstick & Leather and Black Tiger.

We (the rockgang 😄) are going to see Y&T the 18th of october in De Kreun in Kortrijk. It's a city in Belgium, the country where I live and was born. Y&T and especially Dave Meniketti holds the Belgian people close to his heart, and plays here every year. Y&T was, before they made some name in the US, already big in Europe and Japan. They still have a firm fanbase over here in Belgium, the country that Mister Trump refers to as 'a hellhole'. But that is because the common man over here is like way smarter than the orange carrot 👍🤘

There is a longer version (video) w/ many guitar solos not included in the original release. Hear 'N Aid only has the 1 song. The album is a small collection of songs donated (proceeds) by participating artists. 40 artists participated in the song. They raised $3M for charity.(famine relief for Africa). Suggestion for Queensryche - Take Hold of the Flame - Live from Tokyo 1984 (or the studio version is also great).

Hear 'n Aid was a charity record released in 1986. The record featured a supergroup of 40 heavy metal musicians on the track called "Stars". A music video was released as well, produced during the recording sessions. Proceeds from the album were used to raise over $3 million for famine relief in Africa. The project was spearheaded by Ronnie James Dio, Jimmy Bain, and Vivian Campbell of the band Dio, who also contributed a live version of "Hungry for Heaven" to the album. The project also included contributions from Tommy Aldridge, Blue Öyster Cult, Dokken, Giuffria, Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, Night Ranger, Ted Nugent, Queensrÿche, Quiet Riot, Rough Cutt, Twisted Sister, Vanilla Fudge, W.A.S.P. and Y&T, as well as the parody band Spinal Tap, who performed in character. In interview video footage taken during the event, Ronnie Dio said that while attending a 48-hour charity Radiothon for African famine relief at the radio station KLOS in Los Angeles, Bain and Campbell noticed that representation from hard rock and heavy metal stars was low. In light of the success of Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?" and USA for Africa's "We Are the World", they forwarded the idea of a similar project exclusively built around artists from the hard rock and heavy metal genres to Ronnie Dio, and together the three co-wrote "Stars". Stars" was recorded on 20 and 21 May 1985 with the first session at Sound City Studios and the second session moving to A&M Studios Studio A, where "We Are The World" was recorded. Lead vocals were shared between Ronnie Dio, Rob Halford, Kevin DuBrow, Eric Bloom, Geoff Tate, Dave Meniketti, Don Dokken, and Paul Shortino. Vivian Campbell, Carlos Cavazo, Buck Dharma, Brad Gillis, Craig Goldy, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Ojeda, and Neal Schon (whose Journey bandmate, Steve Perry, was part of "We Are the World") all added guitar solos. Ronnie & Wendy Dio received a commitment from Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page that he would do a guitar solo for "Stars" the day after Live Aid, as Led Zeppelins had reunited for the Philadelphia show. A recording session in Philadelphia was set up for July 14 (the day after Led Zeppelin performed) with staff donating their time for the recording. Without explanation, Page backed out of his original commitment. Iron Maiden's Dave Murray and Adrian Smith were in the middle of their 'World Slavery Tour' at the time, and flew in to provide rhythm guitar lines for the main session, along with Campbell. The "Stars" single was released on vinyl in both 7" and 12" versions. Both included a 4:43 edit of the track, and a "4 1/2 Minutes News" interviews with musicians who participated in the project. The 12" featured the original 7:04 version as well. The back of the record sleeve for the single had the following description: "On May 20 and 21, 1985, 40 artists from the hard rock music community gathered at A&M Records Studios to participate in the making of a record called "Stars", as part of a very special project known as Hear 'N Aid. The "Stars" single, coupled with the album, a video documentary on the making of the record, and other ancillary products will raise money for famine relief efforts in Africa and around the world. 40 artists and hundreds of volunteers donated their time and talent over four months to make Hear 'N Aid a reality. "Stars" is a plea for unity in the fight against world hunger." The single "Stars" peaked at No. 26 in the UK Singles Chart in April 1986.[9] The music video for "Stars" received moderate airplay on MTV's Heavy Metal Mania and afterward on MTV's replacement program Headbangers Ball. The project also released a 30 minute Sony home video documentary, Hear 'n Aid: The Sessions, which was shot during the recording process and released on VHS and Video8 formats.The back cover for the documentary has the following description: "'Hear 'N Aid: The Sessions' documents the making of a record, a very special record called 'Stars', that will raise money for famine relief. It is a behind-the-scenes journey through the process of rock 'n roll record-making, from the basic tracks through vocal solos an chorus to performances by 11 stellar guitarists that form a single guitar solo. 40 artists from the hard rock music community and hundreds of volunteers donated their time and talent over four months to make Hear 'N Aid a reality. No autotune no lip singing ,just pure musicaical magic esp. with Ronnie James Dio as the true front man will never happen like this again, God bless these true gods of musicians that we have lost and keep blessing the ones we still have with us keeping it real. Hi ladies, it's good to see Ms. Lulu is back. The last video that I got to watch she wasn't there. I'm sure she was out doing her Lulu things. Kathy said that she always messes up saying the band Blue Oyster Cult, but I think it sounds so cute the way she says it when she messed it up. Well, you got to see some major vocalists and guitar players in this one. One of the guitar players in there by the name of George Lynch who was the lead guitar player for the band Dokken, I saw an interview with him not long ago. Also, the lead singer from the band Dokken was singing on there too. His name is Don Dokken. Anyway, about the George Lynch interview. During the interview he was asked what it was like to play on this song with all the other guitar players. And George said: "Everybody was scared of Yngwie". He was talking about guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. He called that right and I can understand why. As a matter of fact, anybody who plays metal guitar knows who he is. He is a Sweetish guitarist who studied classical music and then switched to playing heavy metal guitar. All of my musician friends knew his style, so when we listened to this song, we noticed that when all the guitar players started doing their parts, they would do a few fancy things on guitar. However, we all notice that after Yngwie played his part, all the guitar players who played after him just did nice basic guitar lead breaks. They were very good lead breaks but after Yngwie played his part, everybody knew that they weren't going top what he did. There is a live version of a song that he does titled: "Black Star". Just the acoustic guitar stuff that he does at the beginning of the song is crazy! Great Reaction! I mentioned everybody but Donna, so, Hi Donna! 🎼🎵🎵❤❤👍

This song was and will be memorable because many of them had rivalries that they put aside for a noble cause. we are seeing a Heavy metal stars (Judas priest, Iron maiden) hard rock (Rough Cutt, Dio) Glam rock (Dokken, Mötley Crüe) etc etc.

I agree with many others here in the comments: please check out Ronnie James Dio. He is the 1st singer you saw in this video, and the absolute top, ever! Specific songs to check out: "Heaven & Hell" by Black Sabbath, "Stargazer" by Rainbow, and "Don't talk to strangers" by Dio. (He sang in different bands during his 50+ year career.)
