I'm 73 years old now and I've been a music freak all my life (e.g. I went to the big Woodstock pop festival in 1969, plus several other big pop festivals and concerts), and I've heard a lot of beautiful music during my lifetime, but I don't think I've ever heard a more beautiful song than this. In a way I wish I had never heard it because I've been hearing it play in my head for days on end now. But I love it so much that it's kind of a paradox for me.
@Sibelius1014 жыл бұрын
Jim Yost please check out this link. The late Eva Cassidy sang this song years ago. Sting himself declared Eva’s version was better than his. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4e7hpeGaZqji9U And you should listen to Eva Cassidy’s version of “Over the Rainbow.”

@@jaiguru8487 ~ I just listened to Eve Cassidy's version of it and you were right, it's absolutely beautiful. But I wish you hadn't told me because now I'll be hearing her singing that song in my head for three days. Regarding Woodstock, it was quite an experience, but they ruined it by having those damn helicopters flying in and out, one after the other, taking people to the hospital because they were having bad acid trips. I think the government did it on purpose because they knew there were several music groups there who made music with words that were very derogatory against the government. All they would've had to do would've been to set up a clinic in a big tent and give all those people a shot of Thorazine (which was what they were shooting them with at the hospital). It was sheer stupidity in my opinion and I had to get out of there because I was tripping my brains out and the sound of those helicopters was driving me nuts. You couldn't get away from the sound of those helicopters. So I only stayed one day and one night and I left in the middle of the night on the first night I was there because I couldn't stand the sound of those helicopters. The heaviest rock music experience I ever had was at a pop festival at the Liberty Race Track (horse race track) in Atlantic City in August of 1969 that they put on to test out the sound system for the Woodstock festival (it was wwwwwwaaaaaaaaay too much sound power for that small of a place and it was so loud that I think being there and hearing that gave me permanent ear damage, and I'm not kidding). The heavy experience I had there was when Jefferson Airplane played as the main attraction on Saturday night. They had a really good light show and I was tripping my brains out on a hit of pink acid called 'Strawberry Fields' that as I recall had some STP in it. While I was listening to them and watching that light show while I was tripping on that powerful acid I didn't know where I was or who I was. That was the first time I had ever experienced anything like that. The second heaviest rock music experience I ever had was at a Pink Floyd concert in the Santa Monica Civic Center in the spring of 1970. I was flying on a purple microdot and the guy sitting next to me passed me this huge hash bong that had a bowl that was probably four inches in diameter and was so full of glowing hash that it looked like a little habachi. He said it also had some DMT in it. I took a good long hit off of that and pretty soon I didn't know where I was or who I was. And needless to say, the music Pink Floyd played blew me out of my tree. But... the heaviest music experience I ever had was at a church in Toronto Canada during the big outpouring of the Holy Spirit that happened there in the summer of 1995. The name of the church was 'The Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship Church.' They had a special worship service on a Saturday night that I went to and they had a music group that sounded like they were professional musicians (and they probably were) and they played this beautiful worship music unlike anything I ever heard before or since, and the Holy Spirit hit the place and I almost felt like I didn't know where I was or who I was. Not only was it the most wonderful music experience I ever had, it was one of the most wonderful experiences I ever had in my whole life period. I'm 73 years old now and I've been a Christian for almost fifty years, and I've had a lot of life experiences, but that one just about took the cake. I have a friend who is a Christian prophet who thinks that there's going to be another big outpouring of the Holy Spirit next year (i.e. 2021), or maybe sometime later this year. He said he thinks it will be the end-time outpouring of the Holy Spirit that is foretold about in the Bible (which the Bible refers to as 'the latter rain'). He said that he thinks that it will be the last outpouring of the Holy Spirit and that it will signal the Lord's return (I sure do hope it happens soon because I don't know how much longer the people living on this planet can hang on). That last outpouring that happened during the mid-90's was the most wonderful thing I ever experienced. It started in January of 1994 and it lasted for three years and then the Lord just took it away. When it was over I was depressed for months afterward. Nowadays I mostly listen to electronica, e.g Tripswitch, Ott, Younger Brother, Liquid Stranger, William Orbit, Special EFX, et al) . I listen to some gospel music but I tend to listen to it too much and then get bored with it (although I really do like Amanda Cook's tunes titled 'So Will I, A hundred Billion Times, 'You Came', What a beautiful Name, et al). . So now I'm just in a waiting mode. But before I forget, seeing as how you so much like this tune by Eve Cassidy, I suggest that you listen to a tune by Steffi Vertriest titled 'Time After Time' which is her remake of Cindy Lauper's original version of it, but which is quite noticeably better than Cindy's original version of if. Plus she made a beautiful tune titled 'Once Upon A Time In the West'. If you listen to either of those tunes and get back to me and let me know what you think about it.

That’s meant to be 1000% honestly. An very very very emotional song that makes me realising: life is shorter as i‘am thinking. It kinda makes me emotional and thoughtful, hearing my grandpa say: you still have your whole life ahead of you. He’s 81. I’m getting 18 in a few weeks: if I get 80, nearly 1/4 of my life has past, this is crazy!
