The Petersens

3 жыл бұрын

"Fields of Gold" is the first song Julianne learned when she switched from just coming up on stage to do one song as a kid to being our full time mandolin player. Immediately, audience members loved her vocal style and this song was our most popular song on our first tour as a full band to Ireland.

►LYRICS - Fields of Gold
You'll remember me when the west wind blows
Among the fields of barley
And you'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
So she took her love for to gaze awhile
Among the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley?
And we'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold
I've never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold
I've never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
As we lie in fields of gold
As we lie in fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind blows
Among the fields of barley
And you'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold

I don't know Julianne that well, but I'm sure she wouldn't be that gullible and wouldn't fall prey to that industry. I'm sure she has some ambitions of her own, maybe eventually a solo album, but I trust she will keep level-headed and down-to-earth.

I've heard this song about 30 times in one day and can't get enough of the love that radiates from this video all over the world. The way the two sisters look at their "little one" so proudly and lovingly is heartwarming. But I don't want to forget the two gentlemen, the brother holds each song together very easily and unnoticed with a great musicality and Emmet is just a fantastic dobro player. I've sang with Grammy award winning artist, written music, and performed on many stages. Your voice is UNIQUE. Don't change it. Just keep developing your OWN voice. The love in the eyes of the siblings when each of the individual solos step up to play is priceless. It says so much about the motivation of the group to not only play music, but to do it in a way that is unselfish... Godly. Each is literally happy... no, Giddy... to see the others step up and play. I don't comment on things a lot but I've listened to this song probably 50 times since I found you guys a month ago. It's incredible!! The arrangment is killer, the instrumental ability of the whole group kinda blows my mind, and how you were able to get this sort of production quality live outside doesn't make any sense to me. Whoever records and mixes these videos is a genius! Even the filming and color grading is top notch. The thing that keeps bringing me back though is Julianne's voice...it's so unique and very full and rich, I could listen to her sing all day! Might have to make a little detour to Branson and catch a show next time I'm in Missouri :)

I'm not sure everyone really realizes just how much work goes into this. It's a freaking ton of practice and hard work. Timing, intonation, instruments and vocals, not to mention the nuances that make this and their other songs so great. Listen for instance at 2:28 second, "as the sun goes down" how the vowel is closed by all three singers at precisely the same second. They are masters at hard work and masters of vowel matching. Great work Petersens and tons of respect from me. The engineering is also fantastic. Not to mention Momma holding it together on Bass. Best Dobo player I've seen, from an old picking bluegrass family himself.

The German language is a very precise language with over 5.7 million words. If I were to describe Julianne in German, it would be really easy, but I don't have the right words in English to describe the talent, charisma, and beauty in such a way that it doesn't sound like a blunt declaration of love. It is just fantastic for me when I can hear such a happy person, with such an ingenious voice that is so full of feeling and honesty. Sometimes it touches me so deeply that I get goose skin and the tears of joy roll. To be honest, it doesn't happen to me with so many singers ... so it happens rather rarely. In short, amazing Petersens and amazing Emmett ... that's probably the best. Although I found this family through Ellen, who sings really well and can emphasize very expressively because I searched the net for yodel talents and was immediately enthusiastic. Every single one of you is a luminary that makes you as a group so unique. So ..., raved enough ..., thank you all and God, may you protect.
