2016 as a hgv (lorry) driver I witnessed this in Calais......this song brought memories back with tears..... I got stuck in Calais for over 28 hours and thosands of "illegal" refugees were roaming the area and boarded the trailers even with full knowlege of the truckdrivers......I also had people boarded on my trailer.......but one made me lose my temper and this song broughy tears to me. There was a afghan father with 4 years old son......they both had boarded on my trailer and I told them to get off and go to seek policeman or security......the father jumped off but told his little son to stay there and begged me to take him to Britain..........it. Was at 8 pm . I refused......I saw that couple at 4 am next morning still roaming the place..... Poor kid was exhausted and cried and his father was kind to him but no sleep nor break.....kept walking. That made mad....went to a police officer outside the parking area and told him about this sad couple.......he ignored me and never didanything to help. I started to demand an action from him,shouted but no empathy.........why for stupidity anf ignorance of the adults children suffer the most.......
