I love that her family are ride or die with her, so important and they should be commended. Good real people. I enjoyed your first podcast and I am glad Jamie and Kate came back together for another one. Great pairing. I think you both would work very well together. If you worked together on a show about various topics etc it could be really a success. You bounce off each other. Jamie’s a sweetheart

I just love these two... Jamie is an amazing, empathetic, brilliant, kind podcaster... I really can't think of anyone who does his job the way he does. Then Katie is one of the best guests to have on. She never runs out of anything new to tell. She truly has been through 5 life times compared to most. Lovely and interesting duo together. Loved the first interview. This one was just as excellent!

I briefly met Katie when she was struggling and I can say that the group I was with used that to their total advantage. She was in a bad place and talked to me about her Harvey, as we passed on the stairs. I totally understood where she was and am really sorry that people - and the press - are arses.

One thing I will say is I’m a special needs mother I have faced scrutiny from family and friends etc and it’s drove me to the edge a few times I cannot imagine being in the limelight having personal traumas and a malicious press world putting my every single move under a microscope whilst the public consistently attack me so freely and still be able to sit there and speak so positively, open and smile! Wether you like her or not give credit where credit is due she’s done an outstanding job with Harvey and at 45 to stick around when coming up in the 90s is hard so many people vanish from the limelight and she still manages to keep us interested wether through liking her or morbid curiosity! I loveeeee her! I think she’s fantastic and she’s true to herself like she says she isn’t manufactured she’s just her unapologetically! Love these podcasts!

22:45 Katie, I've never been a fan, (or a hater for that matter,) but I have never ever been more proud to hear you speak about your mental health issues and I am all in as of now! Well done for coming back brighter and well done for speaking out about suicide and mental ill health, you are an inspiration for all those of "our age" who are struggling. Keep smashing the stigma xx

@@savannahglebe5165 your comment suggests you've not been at the receiving end of any ridicule for being mentally unwell and for that I am immeasurably pleased and hope that you never are xx
@savannahglebe5165 Жыл бұрын
@@ElstheElder Oh does it?? Well i’ve had Insomnia for 30 years and crippling depression I survive off very little if any sleep at all. I’ve held down two jobs all my life never ring in sick, I don’t use it as an excuse for lewd or brash behaviour either, I’ve never got in debt; I haven’t killed animals, I haven’t mutilated my face by the surgeons knife,I don’t prance around like I’m 20 dressed in next to nothing. Your comment is typical of todays generation, if we don’t wave the victim flag,bleet on about how we’re the only generation to have ever had a problem or a struggle then we couldn’t possibly have experienced mental illness. The truth is EVERYONE does and those who haven’t are very very few. Those who genuinely have it don’t talk about it those that do use it as their excuse for all THEIR bad choices in life. The truth is Katie can’t accept she’s getting old now and won’t move aside and let the young ones come through,she thinks her “career”is reviving? That’s an absolute joke; the majority of people laugh at her, just like madonna because they’re trying to cling on to their former years. I used to be a massive fan of hers but now I pity her, she’s a terrible role model and she needs to grow up and act like an adult,especially a mother to those children.
@ElstheElder Жыл бұрын
@@savannahglebe5165 I am very sorry to hear what you're experiencing and I applaud your strength and resilience in the face of such adversity that many people would absolutely use as an excuse to avoid life's responsibilities. I agree that many of Katie's life choices, and those of other celebrities, would not be mine however, they are simply that, her choices. Equally, the world of celebrities doesn't prescribe a retirement age and, not only do I advocate anyone who wishes to work for as long as they feel able, but also the industry doesn't have a limited number of roles, so I can't agree that Katie is suppressing any up and coming younger stars. There are definitely people who use mental ill health as excuses for their own purposes, the same as people will use anything at all to suit their own ends. That said, having lost many friends and colleagues to suicide, I maintain that talking about mental health issues until stigma is smashed, empowering those who need to talk about it and reach out for help, continues to save lives. By the same token, as laudable as your continued struggles are, there's no shame in reaching out for help when you need it and being humble can increase our compassion for others.

This is why I love her, while she was talking about the priory she said “think of others who don’t have support” because when I was hearing it I was thinking of my own mental health disorder and thinking how lucky she was as I’m not able to afford help like that or have anyone who would really want to help me, and I desperately need it, she’s so down to earth. This has touched me so deeply. The way Katie explains how she felt and she couldn’t get out of her own mind and everything was spiralling..so bad that she tried to end her life that’s exactly me right now only I don’t have one single family member to turn too and I have 4 boys!!! So I intern have to live with my suicidal thoughts because I love my boys but at the same time I want to die every second of every day. That’s the only reason I haven’t committed S!! Is my boys but it’s so hard to live with when I don’t want to be alive. I wish I could go to therapy but there’s no one to watch my kids for me to get help. Listening to Katie on this makes me feel like how I feel is valid I’m some way I just wish I could they help without having my kids taken off me. I wish I had the support of family. My doctors know I’m suicidal but they just say “oh you won’t do it” because I say the only thing stopping me do it is the fact that my kids only have me and just living with that kills me inside. Listening to Katie on this podcast has helped me so thank you both like it’s let me know it’s ok to feel this way and I hope somehow I find help but again I struggle with that because I have shit down form everyone and everything!! I do the school run and that’s it I don’t speak to anyone apart from my children and I’m just in a very dark hole. Katie explains how it is to feel like this soo well and Thankyou for just sharing your life Katie because for someone like me it gives me hope …I don’t want to fight for my life everyday I just want to live and you sharing all this has let see me a tiny glimmer of hope 🥹♥️♥️♥️♥️

I found that having the appropriate treatment will help you to see more clearly and feel brighter, and then you can work on how to approach things in a different way. Unless you have experienced depression, anxiety etc you wont know so some people wont get it. The good thing is that is a lot more out there nowadays and people are discussing mental health more. It is easy to say keep going, however I have been there and I am still working on myself but intitially you have to get the right treatment to start you on that path. Dont give up. I live for my parents but I also now live for me - im not married or have kids but I believe in myself and I wont give up. Hope over the months and year you will start to feel the same.❤
