that wagon is dope...yall don't know what a good car is.
@SprntrlDeathNinja12 жыл бұрын
Depends on suspention setup and types, coilover suspention can be lowerd and adjusted without changing the travel. This car also has a Variable Ride Height system wich raises it enouh for driving so the tyres dont hit the gaurds. Theres room for sufficent travel with the Variable Ride Height system there.
@85YotaMan12 жыл бұрын
Thanks for trying to understand... The VRH system only adds 29 lbs, that includes compressor and tank. Well worth it for us and the main reason we got this setup was due to our driveway.

I'm sure about them for all Subaru owners who care about their paint. Now other makes of cars, meh... not so much. But Subaru is a AWD rally based car so the flaps are fitting. This is my wifes car and the flaps were one of her first mods. She used to take it off-road (mud, gravel, snow). They have protected the paint a ton! We've talked about possible removing them but it would take away from the OG look. Plus the paint would suffer, rock chips happen even from highway driving.

while that's a fact, it varies quite a bit. Furthermore she's using a VF39 and 565cc injectors. That combination makes it impossible to reach 340whp. Katie already PM'd me about with an honest answer. Let's not worry about the numbers and get back to looking at that beautiful car!

3", catless pipe with a Turbo XS exhaust, 2.5L block with the 2.0L heads (raises compression to 9.5:1), Vf39 turbo, custom tune. It's hitting about 240awhp right now at 6000' elevation; stock STis usually hit about 225whp at this altitude. I'm getting it set up to run E85; I have the injectors and fuel pump, but I have a bum clutch. When I get the clutch replaced, I ought to be hitting ~300awhp. In fact, I'd be hitting about 275awhp on 91 octane if it weren't for the clutch right now.

Because I wanted a wagon. Because I didn't want an sti. Building a car isn't about saving cash, it's about taking a vehicle you love and making it your own. I'd never trade my wagon for an sti. Ever. And I have no regrets at the amount of money I've poured into it. Not to mention, my WRX is now as quick as a stage 2 sti.

I love the color scheme. Not big on bagging any subaru though. Nice ride none the less. Also 340whp really makes it something to take seriously. I say good job katie! You obviously "get" cars! Now when you're done letting the kids who know nothing about cars talk you into ruining your suspension I wanna see you DRIVE IT!! Seriously!!! A car like that should be a ton of fun EVERYWHERE!!! I'd even linger over to the import realm for a nice wagon with good all around EVERYTHING!!
@mattclose143910 жыл бұрын
I would generally agree with you, but I know this car and its actually Bag-overs. So there is a basic fully adjustable coil over with a small airbag on top. The suspension on Katie's car is actually incredible. She often takes it to auto-cross, has a different setup of wheels and tires especially. This car is one of my favorite compromises between daily, show car and track car. Doesn't get much better! Very tasteful too.
@mattclose143910 жыл бұрын
The airbag is only for raising slightly to drive around town, similar to whats found on the front of most super cars now to get over speed bumps lol
@nezerac10 жыл бұрын
Matt Close I definitely agree with you on taste. Looks fucking gorgeous. And I'm not a fan of slammed subbies but this thing look NICE!! She doesn't have a channel?

nezerac Don't think she has a channel. She has instagram and what not though. Google rumble wagon.
@85YotaMan10 жыл бұрын
nezerac All her Auto-X videos are on my Channel. :) Matt was mostly correct about her suspension. It's called a Cup-Kit. It's an aluminum chamber much like a piston on top of the coil-overs. It only adjusts 1.5" up/down. When it's fully raised like you see in the video it's the stiffest, which it how she runs during AutoX. It's an awesome setup for sure.

My advice: Go out and test drive the WRX and STi. I previously owned a 2003 wrx and it was great. (Now have a 2007 STi) Never let me down reliability wise and was great in the snow. The STi (stock for stock) is in a different league though. Don't get me wrong, the WRX is a great car but if your budget allows for it, go for the STi. You will not be disappointed. They will both get you through the winters.
@DDawgInkTVProduction12 жыл бұрын
Preach brotha preach!! I 100% understand your point, slammed doesn't necessarily mean non-functional. It depends on how it's set up, some are just for show and some are for serious performance. Usually lower and stiffer is better for handling at track because of less body roll and quicker reaction times etc...But I've just started mech. engineering so i've yet to learn XD Hope to own a suby one day.

@fidstang12 жыл бұрын
Well, I hope it works out for you. I know that even a small drop in these cars effects the handling drastically. The spring rate defines the characteristics of the ride, thus cannot be adjusted. A spring rate is the springs rate in compression, you can however adjust where in that rate you start from. So I see what your trying to say and I hope it pans out. I just didn't see the point of the VRH system and coil-overs unless it was purely for appearance, that's a lot of added weight.

No, you are completely wrong here. As are the MANY other people who like to say the same thing. Mud flaps keep the sides of cars MUCH cleaner especially in the rain (we live in Seattle) and also during hard mountain driving or when she's doing track days or AutoX, the debris don't fly up and damage her paint.

'04s are still great; they just had slightly weaker gears than '05 and up. It's not something to replace right away, but you'll want to if you start to make bigger power (300+awhp, say). A tune is what you do with the Cobb AccessPort. Basically, it reprograms the computer for fueling, turbo boost; that sort of thing. It's really best to pay a pro to do a proper tune for you once you have your mods done (plan on about $500 for that). There are other goodies, too. WRXes are great cars to soup up!

Is there any difference between the wagon vs sedan WRX engine? I'm just asking because I'm getting a 2004 WRX (still deciding on wagon or sedan) and I'd like to mod my car to its fullest potential. I hear that the transmission can only handle so much torque? So I'd like to know where to start with the upgrades. I've heard talk about Cobb accessports and such.

If you remove the cover on the piller under where the belt is attached, you'll see area's where it obviously rubs, which makes the horrid high pitch squeaking. You have to shave those down and the noises should go away. It was well worth the time to do to fix it. :)
@TheAstropotatoe10 жыл бұрын
Damn that car is slick. Fuck haters, a nice ride is a nice ride. Maybe she's not into rallying, so who cares if she slams her car? There's a difference between show car and track car. She just likes to have a show car that bites as much as it barks.

The dyno results are real numbers on the dyno I ran on. I can't post a link to the video or a photo of my dyno sheet on here for some reason. You had the Umbrella suspension? That's the point I was making. Any time you pull an automatic from park, it needs to go through reverse(setting off the lights as you switch into drive); that is a dead giveaway, as all autoboxes do this. I take it you've never driven a manual before? You are aware that you can leave the car in gear without holding the lever, right?
@SprntrlDeathNinja12 жыл бұрын
I know this, but whats to say this car isnt already setup for track racing?? the variable ride height setup make it look stanced when its lowerd but when its raised (look how much more clearance there is!) its more than likley the car has a well balanced setup for what the driver wants..
@MattyH199212 жыл бұрын
I actually agree with you here. Usually I'm not against people stancing cars out... it's their car, do what you want. However, why do it to a performance car? What's the point of having a 340WRX that is dropped to uselessness? But hey, to each their own, I guess.

On the other hand dynos can be calibrated by the tuner to give users whatever results they please (and they often do). This car is in Washington and 565s won't support E85, so logically it's 93 octane. Dyno numbers vary, but the numbers she got on this very 'standard' setup are ludicrous even if it's a Dynapack. On a median reading dyno, this car would probably not even break 300.
