Love the information, im just sad because im 13, living with 4 other siblings and one single mother. Income of about 2 thousand per month. And when i heard her say cheap bass for a couple thousand I gave up. Because I dont have even a couple hundred to spend. What im asking the comments is. What do I do? And suggesstions for bass on a budget?

I always recommend connecting with local teachers or professional players to see if they know of any students selling their first basses. Look for one that's well set up as that can be expensive. There are also online communities which might be able to help, including the double bass forums of talkbass.com It is really difficult to get lower cost instruments, but I've known of students over the years who have been lucky, so it's worth it to keep looking and best of luck on your search.
