I really appreciate the first five minutes as I’m watching and commenting. lol I’m learning so much because I’ve never tried something like this, just sparingly over IG stories. It’s showing me what doesn’t work, different ways to articulate what I’m trying to share and where I can improve each video. Just have to keep learning and caring!♥️

Your points are gold. My main roadblock is storytelling. It’s hard to come up with a compelling story around an uneventful lifestyle. I don’t travel to exotic lands, so there’s no new environment to report on. I live in the country, not a bustling city, so there’s only so much forest and cows to show. The only time I leave the house is for work; and who wants to follow me at work? Lol

So I’ve been posting videos consistently for over 6 months now. My channel is half vlog half journalism type that focuses on local events, restaurants and theme parks. Some videos have over 1K views, most of them over 100 views and just hit 210 subscribers. I feel like my growth has been extremely slow, but the quality of the videos have been superb based on the companies I work with. I feel like there’s a disconnect here. Any advice on how to grow my channel faster without losing the authenticity/quality of subscribers? Thank you 🙏

Lately, I’ve been touching myself watching peoples vlogs. Not only is it exhausting to have to expel so much information in a 10 minute video by talking kind of fast with energy… I am not able to be anywhere close to hitting my watch hours to become monetized. So my strategy right now is just to focus on getting to the thousand subscribers And I still haven’t figured out what I wanted my channel to be about at least for now I just know that the only way to get subscribers and to get your watch hours is to do longform Contant. I don’t think I could literally talk for an hour so by blogging you can share your environments, as you’re talking here and there to the camera in a more relaxed manner where you don’t feel that you have to talk really fast. I love the aesthetic videos that are borderlining ASMR where you’re just reading brief text on the screen but you’re still getting to see someone do a product review without all the chitter chatter, which honestly gets annoying if you have somebody trying to chitchat about some thing the entire 20 minutes A lot of us now go to KZbin just to look at a physical product video maybe before we buy it on Amazon and we don’t need all that shit chatter with it because we just need to physically see it and then will know that we like it and want it. I also love blogging because as you’re showing people your environment… I saw one KZbinr link everything that she bought on Amazon in the background of her videos in her description So she didn’t have to point out where she got what… But if somebody becomes curious they can just go to her, KZbin show notes and look for whatever product that caught their eye And I just thought speaking less in videos, and actually just showing people is something I think I need because it is a lot of work as a woman to already have to do your hair and make up and feel like you have to be this perfect professional KZbinr, with some KZbin background within actuality, you can be in jeans and a T-shirt with very little make up and still get the job done

Hi Katie! New KZbinr and fellow Ontarian here! I’m 6 months in and really appreciate the advice you give on your channel for new creators like me. My one-eyed rescue dog is a lot of fun to film (she's a character!), so I’m trying to put out as many videos as I can while keeping the quality as top notch as possible. Thanks for the reminder about not obsessing over perfection because for those of us who are a little on the Type A side (so guilty of this!), the pursuit of perfection can trip us up and slow us down!

Hi Katie, I really hope you are able to read this and guide me 🙏 I’ve been on and off with my channel, it started in Spanish about lifestyle & beauty, then switched to finances where it picked up to 2k subs, then I completely changed the language to English, then back to Spanish and I really want to do lifestyle vlogs… my question is: did I totally messed up the algorithm with so many changes? I unlisted all my English videos and I’m kindof holding on to my 2K subs but they might not even like the new content, or should I start a new channel completely from scratch? What would you recommend? 🥲
If I started over on YouTube, I’d do THIS differently…
