Thank you for making this! It’s pretty wild to be in a niche , where you can make videos about changing your niche

Loved this video! We started content creation 5 years ago and spent WAY TOO MUCH on "must have" camera equipment 😭 because all of the other content creators at the time said we needed them. 🥲 We did not. lol We used our phones most of the time anyway. haha

Love this. On the balance between checking for validation and doing your job, one thing that has been tremendously helpful for me on my content creation journey is that I have like a cheap super old iphone as a "work phone" that I just use through wifi where my social media lives. Yup, I have NO social media on my regular phone. Which means when I'm checking my metrics, posting, and engaging, it is intentional work time, and not something I'm just like casually doing throughout the day. Helps me be so much more present in my personal life. Thanks for sharing!

So real. Ive been full time since January and you sre so right: it feels like it will all just collapse out from under me if the videos dont keep bringing in the numbers. I describe it as feeling like I'm out on the water in a small boat and its slowly taking on water, and all I have is a small cup to keep scooping out the water, and if I stop to rest Ill go under. It's tough because it really is the best and most fulfilling job I've ever had, and I dont want to lose it, but theres that part of my brain that insists this won't last. With any luck that fear might be what keeps us alive here.

My subscriber count has been growing quite well, but still, I like keeping KZbin as a hobby for all of the things mentioned here. Keeping KZbin for me is more fun, I don't have to try to please an algorhythm, be worried about whether somebody likes my content or not. I get to post whatever I post. And it's goes back to what KZbin was originally made for. It was to post videos about US. Thus, the YOU in KZbin. But over time, it became this oversaturated platform where people concentrate on making money and end up putting a lot of junk out. I try not to be one of those people on my channel. I mainly put out stuff that I genuinely enjoy putting out.

No need to shoot in „Most Compatible“ and without HDR when you edit in Final Cut Pro. Final Cut does all for you, it uses „High Efficiency“ smoothly and converts HDR to SDR on an SDR Timeline automatically.

I know I'm 3 months late to the party here... but the things that converted me into a new subscriber and binge viewer are that you give practical advice (like many others) but your advice challenges the standard rhetoric of find a niche, chase the numbers, quantity over quality, no vlogging blah blah blah and i like that you were more sympathetic to your audience and valued your craft and enjoyment over "the hustle ". ❤

It's awesome to learn about new cameras and which is best for what function. I use my phone exclusively for now, to post more on KZbin and other platforms. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and got a HyperGear charger to go with it for faster charging; it really does work fast! It can charge up to at least 80% in less than 30 minutes. I've seen the small fuzzy mics that ppl use sometimes, they seem to be of quality recording; would you recommend those? Thank you for the Skillshare subscription! Excited to see what I can learn from that 👍

Hi Katie, I rarely comment on videos, but I felt the urge to say some words to you after watching this video. I've been watching your content here, on TikTok and Instagram, for quite a while now, and you're doing amazingly well in breaking down the concepts of the content creation work, being personable and honest all the time. There are very few creators out there who can create like you, and especially for women, it is great to see you doing such beautiful work in this male-dominated field. We need you! Keep up the excellent work! 💖💖
