Learn how to DIY a rattan style mirror with rope! Today I am going to show you how to recreate this trendy, sunburst rattan style mirror, and all you need is some macrame cord or thin rope. I love that rattan decor is in right now, so I searched for a design that I liked on Pinterest, and made my own version. As always, my goal is to show you how to DIY home decor for less.

Yes! Mine is still holding up great. If you can, go with a thicker macrame cord. From what I’ve learned, it will hold its shape much better.

Thanks! I haven't had any issues with that, it's totally dry and I live in a place that gets pretty humid in the summer and there have never been any problems!

okay, so i tried this DIY and i dont think the cornstarch mixture is working. Its not stiffening the rope. Any other ideas? The rope is little harder but not stiff enough to hold its shape when hanged on wall.

Hi! Did you let the cornstarch mixture cool? It should be a very thick paste before you add it to the rope. Someone else mentioned this issue as well but they tried again and said it worked!

Dilara Ateş cornstarch, it should be in the baking aisle at your grocery store. Usually it’s used to thicken liquids in cooking.
