You have good eyes! Yes, I decided to exercise some restraint and keep the sculpt and paint job very clean and robot like. I felt that the organic shapes didn’t really do the piece any favors once I started working on the physical object itself. Sometimes as artists we have to edit ourselves. I think it turned out much stronger, cleaner and had more of a graphic punch without all of the wigglies. Have a fantastic day! 😄

When I saw the drawing I was initially thinking they didn't belong, but as a viewer, the most fun I get out of these videos is seeing the process. I was wanting to see how you managed the melty stuff. Great work Kat! Congratulations on landing such a huge client and delivering stunning results. Curious what prompted the changes from the sketch to the final piece, particularly the skin folds around each eyeball. Was this client feedback or another reason? 1:43

Thanks so much, Jon! And, you have a good eye! The sketch was definitely much more elaborate than the final piece. Once I started painting, I decided to edit my original plans in order to limit the piece to simple geometry and ditch the more organic wiggly irregular shapes. I felt that it fit better with the robot theme and let the colors and smooth resin shine. In my experience, sometimes the best skill that we can exercise as artists is the ability to pivot and show restraint. I do believe in this case that doing this made the piece visually stronger. Nice work Kat! But, I noticed something which maybe not all viewers have but I def do and that is I really want to skip your montages and explanations, they are to long and show to much of the same. So maybe take Mr. Beast advice to heart and keep your videos more short and to the point? 😘 Other than that, love watching your projects ^_^

I totally see your point if you aren’t a viewer interested in the educational aspects (teach and show parts) of my videos and only want the story. But, I actually have a large number of artists that ask me for longer videos containing more detailed “how to” information. In your opinion, should I keep my KZbin videos more high level and create more in-depth art lesson style videos on another platform? Again, I really appreciate your time and thoughts on this. @@KatLiepinsArt well art is entirely different than a mr beast video ofcourse so I don't think you should cut out the whole "how to" (you could however keep it basic and put a full how to on patron or something) part but I'm mostly saying you don't literally have to show and explain every step. Explain something when showing is difficult ( like how the epoxy works for example ) otherwise show the process and work some voiceover magic. And don't use up minutes of someones time to show just 1 little step in the whole proces ( rolling the balls for example ) And I really don't want hurt your feelings so please don't take it that way ^_^ The shitload of cut-ins isn't really necessary and again takes up alot of time. (in editing as well so pick a few hard hitters haha) Take it easy on the editing to, you really want to make it look nice I can see that but it's distracting at times (it's so freaking much ) I can pick it even more apart but my final thought, I came to see you make that android so that is what I like to see you do ( the google office isn't really part of that process ) And if people need lessons, have them pay ;) And final final, show your talent, don't hide it all behind a storm of edited footage 🤭 Have a nice weekend😚

@@BITE_MECHANISM sounds like Kats videos maybe just aren’t for you. I think they’re great as they are. But the good thing about KZbin (and other, shorter form video platforms) is there’s generally something for everyone. It might be better to find a content creator that does videos as you like them, than trying to change someone’s videos, especially if they haven’t asked for that feedback

I’m having a lot of fun working on the piece but who I will send it to next has definitely been a struggle for me to find someone with a slightly lower subscriber count than my own. If it goes too low, that person is going to get stuck having to cover a lot of ground to finish it. I’d hate to do that to a fellow artist! 😬

@@KatLiepinsArt That's a good point, would hate to bring the number too low too soon... I'll suggest some other artists too - soapolive on YT (same instagram handle) has about 10k (they used to have videos up like sketchbook tours, not sure why they took their videos down, but it's worth a shot to ask them anyway, since their sub count is close to yours and the number won't go down too quickly), then there's Sam Hamper, a YT artist I discovered recently, who is more active. He has about 6.9k subs. Then there are three smaller channels, artists I found through Instagram. They all have about 2k subs - rabbitfears, rap1993, and Philtomato. Philtomato is a talented artist from the Philippines and he is more active on KZbin than the other two, so he might also be willing to participate! Good luck!
