@@davebnsfnscale4433 it sure does make it easy and fun. Good thing because I’m changing again. I have now more space in the room and I will make it on a huge u table. Stand by for updates.

Love your layout. It’s all about function but it can always be changed if you feel like adding scenery. With all those nice engines, I’d go more for operation as well.
@RailfanRene18 күн бұрын
@@glensword2590 thanks Glen. I just took the whole track and table down. I got the whole room now… So now the table will be U shaped and track will be bigger but based on the same principle, too much track and no scenery. Just an operational track. Updates to follow. Thanks for the comment. 👍🏻

@RailfanRene22 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the message. I use RailModeller Pro, it's not free but it's the only one I could find that runs on Apple. It does have all the Kato N scale track pieces on there. I am changing the track again, I now have the whole room so it will be a little larger and U shaped. Stay tuned for updates.

I’m new to N. How do you wire the lower level reverse loop to work on 2 rail DC without polarity issues?
@RailfanRene6 ай бұрын
There are auto-reversers you can buy that change the polarity of the whole loop to the track you come from and then again to the track you go onto. One restriction, the train can’t be longer than the length of the reverse loop otherwise the polarity on one end of the loop will be conflicting. If you don’t want to use the fancy auto-reversers you can make your own manual reverse switch but that is harder work, the auto-reverser does it all for you after it is installed. So basically the reverse loop is powered separately and can be switched to match the track you come from or go to. It works best with DCC, that is what I use, not sure how great it works on a standard DC set. Google the term auto reverser and you will find some good articles about it. Thanks for the question. 👍🏻

What camera did you use? I had HO scale trains and don't have enough space. I really like your N scale trains!
@RailfanReneАй бұрын
I used the Runcam 5. I will try the Insta360 GO next time, see if that gets a better picture with low light settings. As you can see I don't have too much space myself, Im sharing the guest bedroom. N-scale is small enough to pack a lot of track in a small space. You have some cool cars on your channel.
@jdpaslRCАй бұрын
@@RailfanRene You would like to get light with tripod stand to make your video looks much better. I don't think Insta360 Go can be put on the flat bed because it has curve on top and bottom of the camera. I had train videos and deleted them. LOL
@RailfanReneАй бұрын
@ yeah I have to use some light in it next time, thanks for the reminder 😁. I made a rig in front of the flatbed car for the insta360 go, now I just need to raise the upper level track a little cuz the camera is just a little bit too high. I could flatten the round edges but don’t really want to ruin a new camera, I might need it elsewhere in the future.
@jdpaslRCАй бұрын
@@RailfanRene Right, InstaGo 360 is too tall. That is problem to run into tunnel and bridge. You can try to test with light/tripod stand to see if video looks better with Runcam 5.

So you can run either direction without changing the polarity of the power input? Alas, I know nothing about model trains. [Edit] I see you've answered this question, thanks!
@RailfanRene5 ай бұрын
@@417Dobro yes, DCC is pretty cool. You can also run multiple trains on the same track in different directions when all going forward. Just put the train on the track, select forward and the train goes forward regardless which way the nose is pointing. Thanks for the comment. 👍🏻

@RailfanReneАй бұрын
@@TSmith-ns45 correct. No scenery needed. It’s designed for a purpose, to make long trains and run them, break em apart, built a new one and run that etc. There will be a second level in the future with a massive reverse loop but let’s see if I can finish the first level first, it has 2 large reverse loops so I should be able to run 2 decent sized trains at the same time.
