The buildings you have added are looking good. That is sweet having your layout on the website!

I am really enjoying my layout. There is really so much I could actually do on my L shaped layout, I can't make my mind up, LOL. I try never to pick up a piece of rolling stock. I move them around with Locos LOL

I like the shiny coil cars. Your layout plan is simply genius.

Man, you gonna make me blush lol but I do have several options of switching, railfanning, interchange bringing frieght in, you name it. Compact but I'm pretending anyway so oh well LOL

I love your track plan. I only have 3 X 7 for my upcoming N scale layout. The roundhouse is simply awesome, on my future layout, I would never have room for it. Cheers from California!👍

Thanks for the kind comments. Take your time figuring out your layout and be able to change it if you see something doesn't work just right. You'll have a blast on a 3x7 layout!

Hello Sir, You know I can't ever get bored watching your videos, keep'em coming I was wondering did you ever think about putting in a hump yard? I think it would look more prototypical. Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan
@NitroStarGT6 ай бұрын
I had to look up what a hump yard is, LOL. They do look neat. I don't have room for anything shaped differently along with keeping my round houses on one end and industries on the other. I have way too much track on my layout, but it is fun to operate on and has plenty of options. The scenery is going to be interesting and needs more thought than I'm giving it currently 😆. I would need to study on the yard thing for a while. Thanks for watching and asking 👍🙌

Thanks bud! Let me know if you can go to the SCARM website and look up my layout. I've made a few changes to it but you could count the yard pieces and zoom in and it shows every piece used. If not, we could hook up some other way and I could send you the latest version that opens up with the free version of SCARM

Does the program tell you how many of each piece you need for the layout or do you have to count yourself? Hope that makes sense!

It has a "Shoppong List" that you can group using layers or a non grouped list. It will make it easier to put your different track sections into "Layers" unless you won't have as much track to need that. The shopping list kept me "on track". You will learn to use certain pieces from the Kato available pieces to use column. Use the pieces that are in ready available packages. That takes some time to get used too. Like the 46mm pieces. There are 2 in the left column that you can use but always use the 20-091 piece. That package comes with 2 pieces 46mm long and 4 pieces that are 29mm long. The shopping list will tell you how many pieces to get. You do have to figure on 4 pieces in normal lengths and then the 64mm piece only comes with 2 in that package. # 6 Turnouts come by theorselves. #4 turnouts come with a few pieces including a 481-15 curve. The inside of the turnout packes show you several ways to get the spacing correct between tracks. I only used one #4 turnout. I didn't need to though.

Where did you get the concrete yard down at your UPS building
@NitroStarGT8 ай бұрын
I got it at Tuckers Train Supply in Pensacola, FL but it is a Kato brand product. I'll find box and try to report back
@NitroStarGT8 ай бұрын
This is a Kato brand "Unitram Freight Depot Basic Set". Part number: 23-142. It has several more pieces than I can fit in this area. 2 more sections of track and more concrete pads. Lots of small detail stuff that I have not taken out of the box yet also.

Sir I wish I have a computer so I can build my own layout. Right now I'm using Android Tablet. I wish these software companies would make a model railroad track planning software for Android Tablets. I'm a lousy drawer, I have tremors in both hands so it's difficult to draw anything including writing as well. Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan
@NitroStarGT6 ай бұрын
It would be cool if there was a track design software for tablets. I would use it, too. Drawing this track out would be a chore, too! I'd never get my lengths right. If you use Kato Unitrack, you can start with a master set and keep getting different pieces until you get enough to run and switch cars. The narrow switching layouts seem fun to me for a small space also. Just can't run a train without keeping an eye on it.
