I am having issues with my PSXX that anytime I throw a turnout it trips. I need to adjust something.
@NitroStarGT10 күн бұрын
Watch the blue light flash when you throw a switch or run trains over some. If you have a booster, you probably need to raise the trip amps on it by adjusting CV49. You can go up to 6 amps without installing heat sinks. Simple instructions on PSXX1 owners manual. I do have the PSXX1 that was setup default for the Pro Cab with 2 amp trip. I raised mine just one more amp to 3 amps. No more blue limiter flashes. 👍

Hey Nitro you picked up some great hardware the alpha meter I'm looking at picking one up the aluminum panel & display is really clear i think more companies are making these meters I've seen NCE is selling one now, The SB5 is a great upgrade to boost the power of small to medium size layout the PowerCab is in Awesome intro level system but as you add DCC engines especially sound Engines its gonna slow things down allot but it kept me running for over 5 years till i bought my second SB5 now I'm running consist & i think its because the SB5 is providing more solid power but I'm looking to ooomph the capability of Running more Engines, NCE's PH-Pro system can do just that plus the system includes a dedicated programming track section which is cool you can run or program from one system, I'm looking to upgrade my Layout a bit more with some more EB1's & few other things including one of those alpha meters look down the road for a layout update with some new stuff It's great when you can step up your power & your panel for Wi-fi thats cool running more than one train on your tablet i really like that you can control more than one Engine at one time.. Great Video Nitro Allen D P.S. Nitro i forgot to ask where did you purchase your Alpha meter what Dealer thanks again Allen
@NitroStarGTАй бұрын
Thanks for all the comments. Yes, the NCE equipment does build up and work well together. Good luck with your additions. I'll be watching. Iron Planet Hobbies has the DCC Concepts Alpha Meter

I love my SB5, Power Cab, Cab06p setup... and I have been thinking that a Wifitrax panel will be one of my next DCC purchases... In designing my long term layout goals, I am debating isolating a couple sections where locomotives can be parked and power turned off to those rails, do you think that might be a good idea? Cheers!
@NitroStarGTАй бұрын
You have some good equipment! WiFiTrax 30 would be a fun addition, and the loco roster is nice. I bought the 31 before i bought the SB5, but the 30 will do the same thing if you already have the booster and save 20 or so dollars. Helps me find them WAY faster than my memory of what the exact loco numbers are! I do think having sections to power off is a great idea. I have a LOT of sections like that, but I haven't added any switches. A few locos just start up when receiving track power, and that is annoying. Thanks for watching and commenting.

So if you only had 4 locomotives running at a time on a small layout they could all have sound on
@NitroStarGTАй бұрын
Definitely. I've really got this many locos running at 1 time. If you run them fast, then you would need to run less. 4 is no problem

The limit is ten locomotives ,is that the limit you can have programmed ,or can you have more than 10 programmed as long as there all not running on the layout?
@NitroStarGT17 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by "programmed" but whatever is sitting on powered track is going to pull power. If it is moving and sound is on, it will pull a few tenths of an amps. A power cab will power a door sized layout or larger with 5 or 6 N Scale locos running with no problem. I hope this answers your concerns

What are the estimated maximum amount of feeders you can run off the Bus you currently have installed?
@NitroStarGT2 ай бұрын
Oh goodness, the maximum could be many more but I have learned that too many can actually use an excess current to power all the extra wiring. A 12 gauge bus wire uses current to fill the wire up with electricity if that much draw is not needed. I chose 16 gauge bus due to that being what is recommended for N scale. This is what many KZbinrs have found out also. My feeders are from 6-8 feet apart, on the outside loops, and then there are feeders on every piece of track between turnouts and most spurs. My Power Cab has plenty of power on this 240 feet of trackage. No booster is needed either. I’ve ran 9 locos with room to spare
@MassMangoMurder2 ай бұрын

I have since made a new video since I found that more and more parked locos were starting to limit my Power Cab past its limits. I have since bought a SB5 booster.

Kato have some good stuff, but for me, I am EXTREMELY prototypical, hence the turntable must have a typical well depth beneath the bridge. I also like loco sound on all the time. My bridge is powered and I use a reversing switch when I have rotated my loco 180 degrees. I do like the Kato short buffer/bumper dead-end sections. Might model my own using that design.

@@NitroStarGT I have not, it is an impressive feature especially for n scale. I had seen things online that it can potentially damage the model so I play it safe. Kato has a reputation for being strong runners, I can see it in my limited experience with them so far with the modern diesels, so I'm sure the big boy is no exception!
