A quick ride review on the 2024 Husqvarna TE 300. Lots of changes for 2024 the big one being the TBI motor and electronic power valve. The new WP suspension, particularly the fork, is really good. I like the Braktec clutch but am not a fan of the brakes.

I have 55 hours on my 2024 TE 300. It is my 5th new Austrian 300 in the last 12 years so I have a couple thousand hours of experience with this platform. I can say that this new gen bike is the best yet. The TBI fuel injection solves most of the shortcomings of the TPI series, including the cold seizure issue. The fueling is more accurate throughout the rev range, the idle more stable. The new stiffer frame combined with the superb closed chamber ( edit) spring fork is so good that the only thing most riders will do is fit the proper springs for their rider weight. The bike is far more accurate and predictable in the rocks: you don’t need a death grip on the bars. The motor has even more low end torque, and is smoother. The new start/ stop switch and headlight switch are both poor and failure prone. The Braketec hydraulics actually work very well. Brembo owns Braketec. The seat is an improvement. As to mods, I did little: Tires and Tubliss to suit PNW gnar, full wrap hand guards, a 48 tooth rear sprocket ( 45 is stock )for the steeps, a Clake One Easy Clutch master cylinder for all day one finger actuation, a fan, and an RK Tec high compression head for totally crisp throttle response. The previous gen TPI bikes needed more money spent on mods and maintenance, and while they could be as fast, could never have the composure or precision that the new chassis offers. Time marches on.

Good feedback. Some people complain about the new frame, It suites me just fine. The forks absorb the small chop and track straighter where I get more deflection on my KYB setup.

I subbed to your channel years ago because of your honesty and I've stayed subbed because of it. I like how you are willing to say you like something even though you take crap for it. I think a lot of people feel the same way.

I jumped on a tE 300 with less than 10 hours on it. And I have to agree about the suspension compared to my YZ250Fx. it was great. IDidn't feel any of the bumps. I was amazed by how smooth it was.

I believe you on the new suspension. My friends have Beta, Sherco and Yamaha with KYB. None were too pleased with it for forest riding. The easiest one to solve was the Sherco. We installed the Zeta open free piston, used Silkolene Pro 2 fork oil and adjusted the outer chamber oil height.

@@PNWEnduro I’m looking at Sherco for my next bike and I’ll ask the dealer if he can swap the closed chamber KYB from the factory model and put on a race edition. 😀

My buddy picked up a '24 Pro about a month ago. Loves it out of the box. He's right in the target zone for the stock springs too. I don't think I'm buying another Austrian bike without Brembo. I replaced the Magura clutch slave in my '18 FX because Magura was denying the catastrophic on-trail failures and that was not a confidence builder being far out in the mountains. My '23 is orange and love the Brembo. Brakes are great, clutch is bomber.

I hated the Magura brakes, I'd take Braktec over those any day, but Brembo is still the best. The Braktec clutch I do like.

I also buy huskies because they tend to be shorter and feel a bit smaller In Stature. Plus they look soo awesome. Just got a 24 tx 300 that came with brembos on it and the spring forks.

I compared the TE and XCW side by side at the dealer and the XCW seat height is noticeably taller than the TE. I’d say around 3/4 inch.

Specs say 1/2" but that can vary with how much preload is on each shock.

Had the pleasure of riding the new TX 300 a couple of weeks ago. That bike was amazing. I wouldn't spend a dime on the suspension, it felt perfect. I believe that Braketech clutch is a 9mm, which is what i prefer. The brakes weren't Brembo, but i would probably get used to them. It's very possible that one of these Huskys will be my next bike. The only thing im not stoked on is that hybrid subframe.

Hey Mike, good to hear from you. Yeah, the KTM also has the same hybrid subframe now but at least the Husky doesn't have the full composite subframe anymore. It was that and the horrible Magura brakes that kept me from ever considering buying a Husqvarna in the past.

2024 gas gas 300ex has full aluminum sub frame and open cartridge forks . Such a nice bike. I’m loving mine . Definitely a bit of a firecracker having a smaller flywheel weight than the ec (te or xcw)

I felt that the Braktecs were less grabby than my KTM brembos. They’re awesome on long downhills.

All these reviews make me want to back to team Austria. Can’t fault my current Sherco, at 230 hours it has been phenomenal. Torn between waiting for the 2025 Sherco model and see the updates or make the switch now for the 24 KTM.

These forks are definitely better than my 24 Beta KYB’s. Do you prefer this bike over the tx/xc 300’s?

Yes, the te/xcw suits my riding more than the xc/tx.

I got my beta kyb dialed for me. It needed a revalve and stiffer spring. Now it works GREAT. From oem they are valves for fast enduro!

Good insight. I'm so torn between the 24 TE300 and 300XCW for my next bike. I've never ridden a bike without a linkage so that makes me lean towards the Husky, but at the same time I prefer Brembo components over Braktek so that makes me learn towards the KTM haha. Supposedly the Braktek components have been reworked internally on the 24's to get rid of the lever take up and mush on the front brake.

The only reason I shy away from pds is they sit a bit taller. For riders that are taller I don’t think pds is any disadvantage these days.

Do you feel any tension or traction issues in the rear. There's some people saying when they tilted the motor 5mm that it has the chain angle all jacked up. People are leaving the chain loose.

TE’s are oil injection. TX’s are premix.

How would the forks compare to old xcw soft open cartridge in very slow and technical trails. Like first gear rocky river beds

I have not tried the TE250 TBI. This 300 has softer power, the TX will be harder hitting.

So the 2024 Ktm SXF Factory edition motocross bikes are a look at the 2025 bikes. New frame and a host of other changes. Will the 2 stroke enduro bikes receive the same changes or will they remain using the frame they currently use? Does anyone know how KTM will integrate the changes ? I’m considering buying a a new 250 XC. I won’t be to happy if I buy one then they change a lot of things in a couple months. Any thoughts ?

The 2024 already have major changes and the frame is relatively new, I can’t see them completely changing it again already. KTM seems to go in cycles, major change then a few years of minor tweaks.

I agree i have showas on my honda all pimped out by racetech with gold valves and all that junk and my 24 xcw suspension fresh out the crate is way better and i havent even messed with the clickers.

I like that it sits lower than the XCW and the Braktec clutch feels good. I also like the shorter rad shrouds. I wish it came with Brembo brakes though.

@@PNWEndurothat seems to be a common complaint. If you had to pick one bike would you go with a 300 tbi or the Sherco 300 SEF? That Sherco seems amazing.

I love my 300sef but picking one bike between those two I'd go 300 TBI only because if I can only have one bike, it would be a two stroke.

Ive got a 30" inseam and always had the 300XCW models and added a low seat. That being said I would probably get the TE300 Pro in order to have the Brembo's now that the subframes are the same as KTM. Were you concerned about hitting the linkage at all where you ride? Looks similar to some of our New England trails....with less rocks:)

Not sure yet, prefer the Bembo brakes on the KTM but the Husky sitting a little lower is an advantage for me.

They are moving all production to Chynuh? If so, that’s it for me too. I’m waiting for Sherco and Beta to get with the times and go fuel injected. I personally don’t like carbs.

Matts bike actually has a brembo caliber which he switched out from his TX; still has the Braktec master.

@DNF_Enduro interesting. Both front and back were very touchy compared to the Brembo's on my Sherco's.

@@PNWEnduro That's what I've done to my FE501s. It's a Brembo caliper with Braktec master. It has almost no dead zone in the lever. I think it's the mismatch of cylinders that does it. Not a problem for me. Insta lock > mushy garbage. Every day of the week.
