The number one secret is : PRACTICE. These singers started younger, competed in hundreds of singing competition. If parents see a potential, they supported them kids and let them sing their heart outs in any karaoke/videoke machine or buys them sing-along mics if they can afford it. No vocal trainings, just singing those power ballads in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Some even submerging them kids in the water up to the neck or chin and let them practice their singing, it’s a thing that gives them good breathing exercise too.

I remember one time when Jose Manalo from EB said he was joining singing competitions with his friends but when they knew that Kat is one of the contestants they usually back out already, knowing Kat, she always-always took the prize home. Hehehe

She's really a great singer c-bear coz she used to sing those songs eversince. She had competed so many amateur singing contests here in the Philippines but she never stopped there, she also joined some other contests here. For me,she's really a professional singer. I'm looking forward for her successful career and I hope she'll join to some international singing competition coz she's got a huge talent. Thanks for reacting to her videos. A lot of Filipino singers here that you must watch, some are underrated but you'll be shocked to their voices (style,dynamics,belting,runs,etc.)

Filipinos love music. Good music. The culture is stuck with music from the 80s and 90s. Those are the eras we love. Singers like Whitney, Mariah, Celine those are the artist Filipinos emulate. Morisette and Katrina are probably just two of the examples of artists who are good at what they do because they sing like everyday. Believe you me that's how they honed those skills. Filipinos love to sing. We love to sing anywhere and everywhere.

Super talented!!! I think our musical influences play a big part. We like listening to the big voices and performers of the 80's - 90's. (Mariah, Whitney, Celine, Air Supply, Bryan Adams, etc)

As flattering as those compliments are to Filipinos, it may just look like Filipinos are naturally gifted when it comes to singing. What you don't see is that practically every household, from poor to rich folk, have access to a karaoke machine. It's easy and cheap entertainment. Just by shear numbers alone, the probability of some hidden talent to come out from many places in every social strata is high. Notice that there isn't any original work. It's practically all mimicry.

Filipinos' secrets to to having a good voice: 1. We love to eat rice (don't what's the connection here though. Lol!) 2. We have a tropical weather, means there's moisture in the air and that's good to your voice. 3. We drink 'salabat' (ginger boiled with water). 4. We were vocally trained since we were young. Regine's father trained her to sing in the water, chest level, that is good for breath control. 5. We just love to sing! You can see videoke in every streets or neighborhood. Just my fair share.. 😊
