Going from Ft. Myers to Key West Via the Key West Express for ONE DAY: Florida living!

There are so many reasons to live in Florida but I would say one of the main reasons is that we have top travel destinations in FL easily accessible to us without the need for air travel.
Today I am taking a day trip from Ft. Myers Beach to Key West. It is well worth it if you don't have much time for a vacation. Even if you do, I would take the Key West Express from South West Florida vs driving to Key West. There is plenty to see on the boat trip, including the rebuilding of Ft. Myers Beach, dolphins, the great blue, and of course the Key West Port.

Great video! If you like the water around KW, next time you're there go snorkeling off the reef. The water is fantastic! Oh, and the chickens date back to the days of cockfighting. Once it was outlawed, the chickens were just released, so they're everywhere!

Definitely loved the water and will spend more time there taking part in the water activities. Thank you for the info on the chickens. I actually loved seeing them in the wild but it is also nice to have an explanation of why they are there :).

Wonderful day trip. Weather looks awesome...I live in suburban Chicago, 32 degrees & snow flurries this morning on March 13. If people can spend 3 or more days in Key West, even better. Visit Ernest Hemingway's House and the Little White House. I don't think one needs a rental car in Key West...walk or take an Uber.
