Katskhi Pillar (კაცხის სვეტი), Georgia

The Kazchi Pillar, or Katskhi column is a free-standing limestome pinnacle in the Imeriti region of Georgia. The pillar is located just north of Kazchi embedded into a picturesque landscape.
While the pillar is no longer actively occupied, it is not accessible to the general public. The monks still ascend to the summit once or twice a week to practice spiritual rituals and tend to the wine cellar.

Georgien lohnt sich sehr als Land. Erinnert mich an manchen Ecken sehr an die Schweiz. Das Essen ist super, die Leute gastfreundlich und es gibt viele coole historische Orte zu entdecken. Dazu ist es noch nicht so überlaufen von Touristen.

This looks an awesome and quite unique place. Those ladders up the side look more scary than the ladders in South Africa. Great capture and narration. I see you now have closed captions sorted too as it should in theory help with views. This video deserves a lot more than it's got at present. KZbin is a bizarre platform at times. Keep up the good work 👍

Well. I've given up on trying to understand KZbin fully. We will just focus on improving our own work. I think with the Hölloch video, we've done a good step into a right direction, having a bit more of a story arch. The video here is just a curiosity in Georgia, which is already not on the list of destiantions for most people. But we will still try and show of this beautiful country whenever we go back. But as for reach, these videos will probably always do bad. Thank you for the encouragement, we will sure work on getting better with every single experience.

Hi Ms.Kayak7Seas, It sure was unusual seeing you not on the water but hiking again. You two are sure branching out more and more. The South Africa Episodes will continue, but this was way easier to edit. I am currently working on the next episode for South Africa. We still have two National Parks, one showcase of wildlife, a hike up table mountain, whales, kayaking, ... So much more from South Africa to come. But we went home to family in Georgia and had this pillar to show off. The access to the top is really just the ladder, but only monks are allowed up. I don't believe they have internet, as it is all about living close to god and praying. But they do have a wine cellar, so they can entertain themselves. Today no-one lives up there anymore, but they still ascend regularly to pray and tend to the wine cellar. Congratulations on being the first one to notice the kittens. We hid them intentionally and you seem to be the only one that realized them so far. Aren't they just so fluffy? I wanted to cuddle them, but also not disturb them, so we kept our distance and only filmed them a bit. Soooo cute.

Oh we would have if we had been allowed to. But women are never allowed and only monks can go up. I was even checking the rock and I am quite sure it's doable 😁
