I do Inktober now for the 4th year, drawing and uploading daily an illustration and video. So glad you do inktober too! I think a few tips for others that make their first inktober: 1) as you said, do NOT stress yourself. If you only have time for a 30-minute sketch, then take a pen and make the sketch! 2) you don´t need fancy stuff. A pen or the cheapest of ink is okay :) My first inktober was done with fountain pens ink :D 3)before inktober make some thumbnails of ideas you have, it will save you so much time! 4) if you find a good prompt list that inspires you, follow it! Prompts are great to keep you going! 5) And most of all: HAVE FUN! The fun of creating and be inspired by other inktober drawings is the one thing that keeps me going :)

When I went to do my thumbnail sketches, last month, I was SO uninspired by the words. I'm order to fight against that, I came up with a Haiku for each prompt first. it worked SO WELL!! 💜💜I was then able to quite easily draw out a thumbnail for each!

My advice to everyone is to take your time. Do not let inktober take over your life. Your health comes before inktober. Also, no one will care if you post a prompt a couple of days late they will be glad that you did the prompt at all! Stay safe y'all!

I'm participating this year! I'm following the official prompt and as for advise, I would say try to focus on a goal for your illustrations. For example, I'm trying to focus on developing my own style for my characters. Another tip would be how I'm personally using the prompts - if I miss a day I combine all the days I missed into one image. It really pushes you outside of the box and keeps the stress of making a lot of different images in one day if you miss a couple days.

I would love to see a sketchbook tour at the end! I am doing inktober this year, too. My goal is to get back into doing art regularly after a major spine surgery I had in August. I have not missed a day yet, and it is day 5 when I am writing this. I think my best inktober advice is to do it for fun, and understand that the artists who make those awesome full page detailed illistrations are usually full time. I see a lot of people get discouraged because they feel like they are a "bad artist" when they can't get a full page out every day. School and work will limit you, and that does not make you any less awesome! 🖤🖤

I'm dong the prompts too. It's my first try at Inktober and I'm probably a fool for trying it because I'm forced to use my left hand and I'm not very good at drawing with it. But after my stroke last August I don't have a choice. I miss drawing so much and wish my right hand works but there's nothing I can do about it. I love your illustration. So far I've done 5 of the prompts but trying to keep them simple in order that my left hand can attempt to make the drawing look like what the prompt says. I'm not afraid of failing but maybe I should wait until the right hand starts working but I missed drawing so much that even if it looks awful, horrendous at least I drew it. Besides, it I don't like it I can take my black ink and cover it all up. 🙂

I'm doing my own inktober themed around dragons. I think the best advice I can give is to try and start a little early and also just don't stress out over it. It's a challenge, but enjoy what your doing. If you find it hard to finish, consider changing up your style, loosen up. Just put on some music or have a movie on netflix playing and have fun with it. The ideas to get it done, not make it perfect after all. The pieces I'm doing for Dracoween are more sketchy than my usual work and in black and white. I'm having a lot of fun with it this year.

I’m so happy I stumbled across your channel a while back. You are so relaxing to watch and help me feel more confident in not comparing myself with my art. I appreciate your attitude so much. :) I’m doing inktober! I’ve made sure to draw every day (I missed yesterday and made it up today), and I’m following the official prompt list. Though I’m working in digital since I almost exclusively use inks, lol. So I want practice in a medium I rarely use! My goals are mainly to be more comfortable with digital drawing and to let myself fail. Basically, let myself be okay if I miss a day, and be okay with drawings I don’t like. But to do my best. And I would absolutely love to see a sketchbook tour after the month is over!!

I've been doing Inktober sporadically. So far I've done days 1, 2, 6, and 9. I'm using the neural network AI created prompt list(s), and it's working out really well for me. I think the fun about it is that you can use ANY sort of ink, and whatever paper you want. One year I used post-its (though I only got to day 3 alas). Yesterday I used a random super cheap-o ballpoint pen because I wanted a scratchy, sketchy look for the particular prompt. If you're scared of ink, the "official" rules say you can make an under-drawing in pencil, but I've also been doing mixed-medium and saying that as long as I use ink for some of it, it still counts. I've also seen it called Sketchtober or Drawlloween, so as long as you're making some sort of art, you're succeeding! I also love how you say that there's no cat intermission yet you talk about your cat and show her. Seems like an intermission to me!

I´m participating this year and I am determined to finish all 31 drawings :) I have my own prompts which is ANIMALS and I´m drawing 5 animals from each of the 6 basic animal groups :) I´m struggling with my right arm that goes numb every now and then because of severe neck pains that I´ve had to deal with since April this year.. I can´t work so this challenge is a bit of a therapy for me and since I´m posting everything to IG it will keep me motivated to continue the whole month... I hope ;) I´m keeping it fairly easy and light cause of my arm going numb every now and then but so far I´m having a whole lot of fun :) Can´t wait to see what other masterpieces you will create :) My only advice is: Have FUN and do not stress.. the main goal is to practice on your drawing skills and maybe try a new medium. That yellow zig mangaka #24 brush pen is one of my FAVORITE brush pens everrrrrrrr. I actually did a whole video series called the Ultimate Brush Pen Showdown where I tested a tonnnn of different brush pens, and that was the winner! Technically, according to my rubric, there was another pen that scored slightly higher, but the yellow-capped pen just....felt better. More delicious! Hope you end up loving it because it’s criminally underrated but so wonderful!

I'm participating this year! It's my second year, but last year I dropped out before the first week was over. This year, I'm committed to finishing, and I'm actually enjoying doing it! My biggest piece of advice for other artists is to not be such a perfectionist about your pieces. Try your best of course, but at the end of the day the point of the challenge is to create art, not create a masterpiece everyday. 💜

Yes, I'm doing Inktober! I've committed to doing all 31 prompts from the Linktober Quest list, but since I plan to release a "walk through" video on the 31st (the Quest list gets you to design a Legend of Zelda game's story line) I have to get it done ahead of time. When I've got those done, I'll pull from the official & other 2 Linktober lists to have other things to draw. I'm having a lot of fun so far!

I love how you stylize eyes with a longer bottom line. Very Katt-like 🤣 I also like how you show your planning process for Inktober too. There's so much BTS, planning, and work that goes into each piece before the final piece. I sometimes feel like I am too slow at drawing due to this and feel behind. However, it's ok to take some time to experiment. AND I also use Procreate to do my sketches xD And then transfer it over! The etchr mirror looks very useful! Would love a review on it^^ Does it work at different angles? Does it warp the sketch sometimes? Or will you lose your place if your paper moves or if you also move your own "perspective"?

I'm following the prompt list but I'm using a pocket sized watercolor skechbook and a calligraphy pen. I don't spend more that 30 minutes on each one. Plus, none of my other nibs for my pen work so I'm stuck with a very tiny line and I have no pots of ink to fill in with a brush haha. I'm not uploading them anywhere - I'm just doing this as a winding down thing after work. :)

I loved seeing these and would love to see any more videos you choose to do for Inktober however you decide to do them. I don't personally do any of the art prompt things because drawing/sketching has never been a strong point for me and I have issues with shadow perception (meaning if I add a shadow to an object I find it harder to identify the object than if it were just a single flat colour or object with no shadow at all). So have never really enjoyed the process at all. I do like colouring in the adult colouring books though, but generally that's with pencil crayon or gel pens and gel pens don't exactly count as ink (they are pigment gels, not strictly ink and can't even be dated like actual ink can). And its not very easy to fit a prompt into pre-done images. I get lots of enjoyment watching artists on youtube do stuff for these challenges (and Mer-May!) instead. I particularly like yours because the cats you do are so adorable and cute. Would you ever consider making these illustrations available as prints from somewhere like redbubble? I think it would be really cool to be able to support you financially and own a piece of your art. It makes me think of whimsical fairytales and is super relaxing to look at. Each picture always feels like it is telling a story. I love that.

I only recently got into digital art, and I love it! Had no idea I could learn realism that quickly! I’m too anxious and picky to do much IRL so I’d planned on Inktober. But out of the blue, my brother needed my tablet, and well, of course I handed it over. You’d think at 32 and 29, we’d past that kind of thing, but I guess you never age out of family! At least this time it’s not borrowing my car for six months! 😂 So... hopefully I get my tablet back in time to do some of it, and I might dip my toe in corporeal drawing again, but I don’t know how that’s going to work. I’m just happy that this year there’s something I know I’m good at and can lean into.

We had the same idea for day 1 😁 but mine doesn't turn out as I imagined it. It's kind of frustrating when the first day goes so wrong, like mine did. It takes some magic away. Well, I also do this. Only with other proms. From an amino. But I try to make everyday. I only didn't have ink supplies, So I just use pens. These arts are amazing, just like all your other art. They are so creative and cute.

My tip is not to stress yourself. Since you're doing so many drawings in one month, it doesn't need to be perfect. It's about trying new things and expanding your knowledge about art and fun! Loose up and try new things.

You can use an app called Camera-Lucida to transfer a picture from the iPad to your sketchbook. If your sketch app doesn't save to your camera roll, you can do a screen shot and use that.
