She always has a great stage, started dancing really improved her vocal abilities live and lots of costumes, dancers whatsoever. Besides other A List/ S tier stars like Beyoncé, Adele, Gaga there are not many on the same level. And she is an artist indeed. She started out with her first hits basically just being her and her guitar. She writes most her stuff and a lot of popular songs for other artists too. Sure, her recent music isn't the best. I think she needs to change her team instead of trying to force something on her. It doesn't work. However, saying she is not an artist and a mediocre performer is just a rude lie.

@@max_sch4462 its not a lie at all. Ive seen her performances and i find her to be egregiously inauthentic and midrate. And as for her music, shes a beyond mediocre writer and that shines through now more than ever. At the start of her career she leaned heavily on luke and bonnie mckee (who is actually great) to do the heavy lifting. Her early success is more attributed to the team around her and the climate of the era. Thats why shes had no longevity because at her core she is not an artist. Shes a product. That separates her very blatantly from the artists you listed in your response. Her working with luke again exemplifies that, it was a cynical move that shes very defiant about.

Inauthenticity is a very subjective feeling. To say her recent VMA performance, the Superbowl, her last 2 tours, the Vegas residency etc. were mid is ridiculous. Like br fr. What was really bad about it? Ans what are your standards if besides maybe 3-5 artists everything is mid? But your point about artistry is what I was saying. I believe she is, if it were just the team everyone else could have had that career that they worked with... She contributed a LOT. The problem is that she is not relying on herself but on that old team to get back to that. You can tell from her new Songs which one's she felt great about and where her soul is in. They are good. The rest like your said feel like a product trying to fit in. She should get new people that help her get back to building something on her persona not fit her in something else.
