Unfortunately, even without any associated controversy, "Lifetimes" is proving to be an even bigger flop than "Woman's World" was, one month ago. The official streaming numbers are in... and it's bad news. "Lifetimes" debuted at only #145 on Spotify Global and at only #198 on Spotify USA. That's even worse than "Woman's World" initial chart position of #110. I had a strong hunch that this was going to flop, even before the Spotify numbers were announced. Why? Because the "Woman's World" music video was able to garner 3.4 million KZbin views in its first 24 hours (yet the song still flopped, in terms of streaming). "Lifetimes", by comparison, had noticeably less interest by the general public. The associated music video had ONLY ONE THIRD the number of KZbin views, in its first 24 hours (1.1 million). That's a decline of 66%. And sure enough, the lackluster streaming numbers back that claim up. I don't want Katy to fail. I'm a huge fan. I loved her "Witness" era (when so many others didn't). I ALREADY PRE-ORDERED TWO COPIES OF HER "143" ALBUM ON CD... SO, PERSONALLY, I AM SUPPORTING HER EFFORTS. That said, I don't believe in being delusional like some of these other Katy Cats are. They refuse to acknowledge and accept that Katy's glory days are well in the rear view mirror. Just like the ones who you said personally attacked you in the comments, insisting that "Lifetimes" was gonna be a HIT. THEY'VE ALREADY BEEN PROVEN WRONG. I simply believe in calling it, like it is. Not saying YOU didn't do that. You at least had the foresight to not be so sure it's going to be a hit. In all honesty, whether we like to admit it or not, Katy has essentially been flopping since May 2017. I know, because I've followed her downfall closely. I've never seen anything quite like it. It's fine to still like Katy. I still do. Those other Katy Cats should still continue to like and support her, too. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THEY SHOULD BE DELUSIONAL ABOUT THE CURRENT STATE OF HER CAREER. It just makes 'em look like idiots.

I heard the leaked version of this song on x , it was very good everyone was praising the song on the comments, I think this song is good it's giving 2016-2015 vibes , I feel if this song dropped in 2015 it would be hit and stay on the chart for long Time , same with women's world if that song dropped around 2013_2014 it would be a major hit despite the poor lyrics.

Babe you're right!! This song is disappointing and I wanted to love it. It's so generic. I think some fun vocal effects might have helped. Idk if she can come back at this point because this will be her 3rd flop album in a row
